They redesigned Iggy's hair? Wish they'd kept it as-is, he was my favorite.

You can see them all together in the cake screenshots too. Bowser Jr. is the cherry, of course.

Actually, no, it's in 2D. Maybe 2.5D, if you must.

But really, is there anything wrong with SMB3?

Yoshi's grunts are gone, good. The penguin suit functions almost identically to the blue shell, which I have no problem with, since it made replays on the original more interesting.

Not a fan of the reusing the same soundtrack from NSMB. The main theme, by the way, is already a remix of Super Mario World's credits theme. Koji Kondo's getting complacent.

You realize there are other musicians at the Nintendo offices.

Am I the only one who thinks that baby Clown Car is simply adorable?

I SO hope that there's a twist mid-story where there's a power-struggle between Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings. I think he's had it coming, frankly.

On a rather dour note... 3D artwork just doesn't quite capture the visual insanity of the Koopalings that well.

IGN has new NSMBW videos. One is of the new Lemmy Koopa Boss Battle.

Looks like the Koopalings are getting voices at last besides the cartoons.

I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but I noticed that if a player loses a life, the level continues running so as long as there's at least one player alive. So here's my question: what happens if one of the players loses all of his lives? Does he have to wait for a Game Over to play again? Can he be resurrected at all? Because I'd hate to think that what seems like a fun multiplayer experience can be hindered by your friend's incompetence.

I guess the Super Guide™ crap will take on from that point so that your special friend is free for being bottle-fed and stare in awe at how good you are at unbelievably challenging games.

Or something along those lines.

@ Isuka: Yeah, I rather dislike the sound of that Super Guide myself. If possible, it makes New Super Mario Bros. even more easy.

@ Blount: I don't know, but I imagine that there will be some way to transfer lives in game from player to player, like in Super Mario World.

That had better be the volatile red dye they sometimes put in playing cards so that prisoners can cut them up and put them in lightbulb sockets to commit suicide. Nothing says Mario like suicide.

Miyamoto makes anything as ordinary as red plastic look special. It's almost endearing/weird.

I like how the "further reading" is just the image again.
