About the stem cells...

Post by minnietguinea »

What's everyone think? There's apparently a lot of pressure to lift the restrictions, as Korea has had a breakthrough in the field. The House has passed, and a surprising number of Senators are pushing for it. But still, even after 60% of polled citizens said they'd support it, the president is still claiming he'd veto the bill. Are stem cells a possible defence against cancer, alzheimer's, etc., or the murder of human babies? You decide. Like Shadow the Hedgehog. Or something.

DON'T KILL THE BABIES THAT WEREN'T GOING TO BE BORN IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Alternate answer:

Every sperm is sacred.

Has the GHZ Forum officially run out of things to talk about?

Err, anyway, I got nothing against stem cell research. They get my official seal of approval.

Basically it's 'pro-choice' vs 'abortion is murder' isn't it?

I don't know much about it, but that's the impression I got.

Although I don't know a lot about it, I'd say how could you be against it?

ONLY SATANISTS AND BABY KILLERS SUPPORT STEM CELL RESEARCH.

Well, you can extract stem cells from afterbirth.

I'm Catholic and I'm for it. Anything that can help cure AIDS or Cancer, I'm for. I don't support "growing" test tube babies to harvest stem cells, or abortion just to extract stem cells, though.

Abortion is different, I guess. They're talking about cultivating an embryo in a pitri dish, and using its stem cells. Not taking fetuses (feti?) from a mothers tummy. Or the stork. Whatever you believe.

What if the abortion is going to happen anyway?

Then I guess it's like donating your body to science.

Not that I'm for abortion as "a means of birth control" or anything, but if it does happen, you might as well try and help someone else's life.

See, why can't everyone say things like that? Then we wouldn't have this "controversy" thing.

I'm for it, anyone who values the well-being of lifeless conglomerates of cells over actual human life is insane.

This is the extent of my opinion and all I will say on the matter, into the sunset I ride!

I edited this shit twice!

I'm just realistic about it. There are people who think different than me, and that's cool. Everyone has their own opinions and beliefs. I don't have to agree with it, but I can choose to not participate in it or support it.

Oh my god! Don't you realize that the human soul is created at conception? I mean, how would you like it if I murdered your Grandma? Because murdering a few cells in a dish is exactly totally the same thing. It's ever bit as bad as shooting a baby, or doing a man up the ass.

Think about it!

People who are against abortions don't like the idea of using 'abortions that would happen anyway' for stem cells because they feel they are accepting the abortion.

Killing someone to give someone else a chance of living doesn't add up.

I'm not saying this is my point of view, just that I see where they're coming from.

Abortions are bad. I'd much rather have someone who didn't want a child / wasn't prepared for a child to raise the little rascal, be poor, treat the kid like dirt, and spend the rest of their life regretting it. Much healthier!

Jesus was a myth. OH I WENT THERE.
