Pocky sounds pretty shit. I get the impression 95% of the gaijin scum that eat it are doing so because it makes them look Japanese, under the pretense that Japanese people are cool simply because they invented anime.

I dunno... Pocky is pretty good. Except for the fact that it lasts for about a second, then you're looking for another one. Damn things are too exspencive for my taste.

Heh, that was wacky. My Japanese teacher, for our final lesson, brought us some Pocky. It was normal chocolate pocky, so i didn't really enjoy it so much. But hell, that was 6 years since i last had the stuff.

I think Pocky is pretty meh. First, each piece is too thin and too small for you to actually taste much. If you bite a whole stick down and chew it in your mouth, it's maybe a quarter of a full bite of anything. Second, they're expensive.

I like pocky, and I pick it up once in awhile, but it's not my favorite candy or anything. Flake, on the other hand, is my anti-drug.

I happen to be a sucrose connoisseur - I don't smoke or drink, not even coffee, but I am addicted to candy in a way no grown man should be. This includes candy from all nations, and based on my extensive research, I classify pocky as one of my absolute favorite candies in the world. It's simple, but refined... sweet, yet not obnoxious... aerodynamic, yet not gaudy... brittle, yet not crusty... minimalist, yet not dull... satisfying, yet not filling... The shape, flavor, and texture are all perfect.

It's no fanboy thing, pocky is the real stuff. It's like the Japanese version of M&M's, except easier to hold and they don't get all sticky in your hand. I like to think they cost less than $5 a box in Japan.

I smoke weed and drink alcohol copiously. In fact, I'm drunk right now. I have no need for this "pocky".

I'm a 24/7 party peep, and I find no reason to be shamed by that.

It's not meant to be a replacement for your vices, you ravenous cockmongers, it's another pleasant supplement for the ongoing activity of existence. How many people said they didn't "need" electricity before they got it?

Electricity is a necessity now. You can't call it a "pleasant supplement", and you can't compare Pocky to electricity. :P

I choose not to eat this "pocky" in deference to it being a fanboy obsession, tasty or no. Even if I was stoned.

Well, pocky tastes alot better than electricity. Plus, it's still cheaper than weed.

Not when you get your weed for free.

What does Pocky taste like? I've considered buying it, but I can't justify buying candy for +/- $5 a box.

Hey, when you're the only one in your group of friends who has a car, and that car gets very little in the way of miles per gallon, weed is an acceptable substitute for gas money.

Which isn't to say I never put in, but I let my friends deal with buying weed while I occupy myself with buying gas.

It tastes like what it is. (Semi-sweet?) chocolate on thin breadstick things. You should try other flavors too, they even have fancy cake-decorated kinds, which are obviously going to be a little more expensive.
Btw, where I buy it it's only like $2.50 a box.

You can find cheap ass brand pocky for 50 cents a box. At least, at the Asian markets that I know of.

Yeah, the only place I've seen Pocky at around here was at Suncoast. I'll be sure to try it out if I find it at a reasonable price.

So true, I took a few tokes of weed in the early hours of my 20th. Pocky would not have filled such a niche.
