I'm starting to agree with Neo. We need Eggman back in his mechs before this elemental shit gets out of hand. Otherwise, we're going to have a Wood-based final boss sooner or later.

Screw Chaos's summoned typhoons... Splinters really hurt!

Tangental aside: I love looking back at previous threads that announced the latest mainstream Sonic game. The initial impressions from board members tend to be much funnier in retrospect. Along with bittersweet or just plain sad.

Yes, and his name is Plutonium Boss. Which, incidentally, would make an awesome band name, if it hasn't already.

Man...I cant even being to think the story (if any) on this game, well even the classic games had a story tho simple.

I remember that Sonic rarely showed monsters back then, and if they showed up they were cool like the ghosts in the pyramid, but it started to get weird in SA2 maybe?...nah the bio lizard was kinda OK...it all went shit on Heroes I guess..yeah Metal looked like crap. But everyone knows all hell broke loose in shadow the hedgehog, the monster madness then carried on to Sonic06.

It was kinda ok when the monsters were just at the end, but now they got spawns which make Sonic games unsonic-like. Sonic = busting Robots, not demons or aliens.

Something about Sonic and lizards.

Maybe Sonic HD will have lizards?

No, not even giant alien/god lizards. Just lizards. Maybe even a certain sarcosuchus, if we're lucky.

Or maybe, a secret scene where Espio and Vector finally admit their undying love for each other. If we're unlucky.

"FIND THE VIBRATOR ROOM, ESPIO! FIND IT QUICK!"

EDIT - What an epic 400th post.

So, this happened. Apparently. Who knows, in this uncertain climate.

Wait, what? I thought we had already established that site had nothing to do with Project Needlemouse.

Notice how they don't use the word "Sonic" once.

More mystifying is the fact that they're calling it Needlemouse: The Emerald Hills, while that environment art is clearly based on Green Hill zone. Look at the rolling spiked bridge.

You'd knew if you read the press release instead of just looking at the pretty pictures.

Anyway, I'm curious about that project.

Now that level segment sort of looks like a mix between Sonic done Tim Burton and Dr. Suess. The Truffula trees are a unique touch.

I can't even tell if you're being sarcastic or not. Good show.

In any event, sorry, I must have been thinking of this.
