GIRLZ PLAY TOO!!!!!
Apparently some knuckleheads decided that this was the best way to market the lilac PSP. I can't decide which this angers more: the "argfuck casual gamers get out of my hobby" section of my brain or the "goddamnit girls play games regardless of whether or not it's PINK FUCK YOU ARGAHGAH" section of my brain.
ps. gaiz the quiz said I am SO LOCOROCO what you get lololol

Hey Delphine, if it makes you feel any better, I own a purple Gamecube.
It's very emasculating...

I don't get it. I use purple for just about anything. Or lilac or whatever. What's so girly about lavender?
Hot pink, now, that definately goes with boobs. I mean pink pink.
I can't think of a male counterpart, though. Blue is generally associated with boys as pink is with girls, but any girl looks fine wearing blue. Not every man can pass with a pink shirt. I certainly can't.
The concept of "gamer girls" is certainly not as widespread as most people make it out to be -- over here, about as many girls play video games as they did in 1990. It hasn't changed a thing.

Re: Goddamnit
"OMG Lilac PSP" Sounds like a lame Internet meme waiting to happen.
Re: Goddamnit

Important question: Does it dispense air freshener and/or tampons.

Re: Goddamnit
All sarcasm about the purple 'Cube aside, is system color reallly that big of a deal? I could understand if your PSP were pea-green or barf-brown, but silver?? It plays games fine, right?Senbei wrote:I rather like that lilac PSP, actually. It's certainly better than the solid red GoW or blue Madden ones, and I quickly became tired of my silver soon after purchase.

Not really, but having the choice is always nice. My Ice Blue Gameboy Pocket was kickin'.

Related: Study: Women and minorities are underrepresented in video games
Excerpt wrote:Women, Native Americans, children and the elderly also were underrepresented. For example, only 10 percent of playable characters surveyed were female, though women now make up 40 percent of video game players.
African-Americans appeared in proportion to their numbers in the real world, but mainly in sports games and in titles that reinforce stereotypes, such as 50 Cent Bulletproof.
Males, whites and adults were overrepresented.

Re: Goddamnit
This reminds me of a few instances in which I've heard boys telling girls that they can't play Game Boy because of the word "Boy" in the handheld's name.
Come to think of it, this reminds me of a similar PSP campaign.
Re: Goddamnit
And? Wonderboy was the girls favorite game in the local Arcade for years, that machine was still on the place when everyone else was playing The tekken 2 machine, the Arcade has been gone for eight years, I kind of miss it -_-
Re: Goddamnit
Shin Megami Tensei 4 for the DS is going to have a hispanic party member. I think that's the only hispanic to ever be playable in a JRPG.
Of course, it's SMT, so he'll probably betray you and become either an extremist liberal chaotic Lucifer-worshipping whackjob or an extremist Conservative God-worshipping Nazi.
