Okay that second part sounds pretty crazy.Yami CJMErl wrote:2) Transferring the second Movie 12 Event Pokemon--Arceus, the "god of all Pokemon"--into HG or SS apparently unlocks a special event involving Arecus and Cynthia(!), and also allows you to go to some unknown special location and catch a Level 1 Dialga, Palkia, OR Giratina.

It has been confirmed that players can let all 493 Pokemon out of their balls to follow them on screen. Talking to your Pokemon will let them talk back in symbols that display their mood and level of friendship.

Re: Silver and Gold have I some
Gamefreak is being remarkably awesome about this. I was totally ready to hear there would be some kind of strange Aminity Square concession due to only having made the sprites for certain Pokemon("Pikachu? Dawwww cute! Come on in! Pichu... no. That sucker is uglysauce."), but lo and behold even the hardened Dunsparce fans are appeased.
Seems there will be a Jirachi given away that will unlock a special area in HG/SS once traded. Also if you pre-order, they've got an awesome Lugia/Ho-oh figure for you for their respective games, and will thrown in an Arceus figure if you pre-order both(Pokemarketing at it's best!).

* Having Arceus will take the player on a time-travel adventure where they go back in time with Cynthia and witness Arceus giving birth to Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. The player can then pick one of them to keep at Level 1.
* All 493 Pokemon can follow the main character outside of the Pokeball. The player can talk to the Pokemon to gauge mood and friendship level and the Pokemon will fetch the player items it finds.
* Accessories have been mentioned, so Pokemon Contests are probably in.
* All menus can now be controlled with the touch screen.
* Notch-Eared Pichu is obtainable.

This is the best part by far. Sure, all that other stuff is nice, but this feature is going to get the most use, and I'm glad they've finally put the PC on the touchscreen.Zeta wrote:* All menus can now be controlled with the touch screen.

Any word of Crystal's Battle Tower yet? Or something comparable?

Re: Silver and Gold have I some
Given that they're showing signs of a Celebi event, I wouldn't be surprised if other Crystal features made their way in. FireRed/LeafGreen had a tower, too, but it was speed-based, not endurance-based. Still, it would be pretty odd not to have a tower of some kind in HG/SS.

Since there appears to be a new area west of Goldenrod, you may be right. I'm digging that more up-to-date map, by the way.

-Very dry looking place west of the Lake of Rage, though there's otherwise nothing there
-Note the convenient cloud that just happens to have been parked over where the Battle Tower was in Crystal
-I like the water color transitioning from the west end to the east, very nice touch
-Railway bridges too
-Mt. Silver itself was moved east a bit? The Pokémon Leauge is directly on it now.

It's a forest of golden trees and golden mist that Ho-Oh flies out of when you use the Rainbow Wing.-Very dry looking place west of the Lake of Rage, though there's otherwise nothing there

Re: Silver and Gold have I some
So has anyone else seen those nifty figurines they're giving out as preorder bonuses for the games in Japan? I would bet any amount of money that they're by the same maker (and thus, the same tiny, yet awesomely detailed scale) as the Giratina figure you got for Platinum.

Hypnosis being of an acuracy of 60% really bugs me in platinium, so I will stick with pearl for pokemon battles. What was the need of doing that? Hypnosis is not that cool anymore, was there any new deadly combo?. Have you noticed how many new of those Pokemon mistery dungeons games are or are going to be released?. What, people enjoys playing as a pokemon in a real rpg that much?

Cool news. New type of Pokemon competition in HGSS: Pokemon Racing. Will take place on tracks near Goldenrood. I've been waiting for this for a while.

I don't think they'll come to America though. The Dialga and Palkia figures that came with the Japanese Versions of Diamond and Pearl didn't make it over here.Yami CJMErl wrote:So has anyone else seen those nifty figurines they're giving out as preorder bonuses for the games in Japan? Some news:
* The official name for Pokemon racing is the PokeAthalon.
* The Kimono girls will be major recurring characters that will temporarily join the player's party.
* Esuine, the Battle Tower, and all of the other stuff from Crystal will be in the game.
* Ho-Oh and Lugia will have either new abilities, Formes, or both.

Pokéthlon. (ポケスロン)Zeta wrote:PokeAthalon.
They're referred to as "Dancing Girls", which may or may not refer to the Kimono girls, however it's also likely.Zeta wrote:The Kimono girls

Eusine.Zeta wrote:Esuine
It's actually been referred to as a Battle Frontier, but it's pretty much confirmed that the Crystal tower is still in the same place on the handdrawn map.Zeta wrote:the Battle Tower
Really? So you're singlehandedly confirming Kris will be available for play, Suicune will be special, and stuff like the Egg Ticket, Buena's Password and the ExtremeSpeed Dratini are definately in?Zeta wrote:all of the other stuff from Crystal will be in the game
Or none. "Ability" doesn't need to be taken literally as the Pokémon's ability, it could simply be an addition to their movepool. And the new form rumor is a bunch of crock so far.Zeta wrote:Ho-Oh and Lugia will have either new abilities, Formes, or both.
But thanks for playing!

Hot damn, this game just keeps sounding better and better.
@Neo: The "temporarily joining your party" thing is probably just like what they did with Mira, Riley, and those other Battle Frontier Trainers in D/P/Pt.
EDIT'd: Scans of that "CoroCoro" magazine apparently have revealed that Mewtwo, Latios, and Latias will be obtainable in one or both games as well. So we can all forget about them making EarthRuby and WaterSapphire for now...or, at least, not until the next Nintendo handheld system which will be incompatible with GBA and DS games.

I'm fully aware of what he meant, it's just that that little tidbit has a really rich fragrance of poo. The Dancing Girls are said to appear several times throughout the story, but nothing more specific than than.Yami CJMErl wrote:@Neo: The "temporarily joining your party" thing is probably just like what they did with Mira, Riley, and those other Battle Frontier Trainers in D/P/Pt.
Also, I double-checked my sources, and the Kimono Girls were apparently called Dancing Girls in the original japanese game. So I guess they're one and the same. Wonder if there's two more with a Leafeon and Glaceon?
Nah. If there's anything that Nintendo has proven with its handheld division is that the new system is always compatible with the games of the previous system. And don't use the DSi as an argument, it's essentially a branch of the DS, much like the Game Boy Pocket/Light.Yami CJMErl wrote:the next Nintendo handheld system which will be incompatible with GBA and DS games.

Well, weren't the Kimono Girls in the US iterations of Gold/Silver named after days of the week? I'm sure they can add in a "Saturday" and "Sunday" in there somewhere...Neo wrote:Also, I double-checked my sources, and the Kimono Girls were apparently called Dancing Girls in the original japanese game. Re: Silver and Gold have I some
Nah, you're thinking about these guys.
The issue with having two more Kimono Girls with the new Eevees was that they couldn't appear in the dance theater because you only have the Johto Dex by then. If they give you the National Dex before shipping you out to Kanto, then Kimono Girls with Leafeon and Glaceon could appear during the Kanto story.
