It's pretty clear in the movie that they're not just borrowing elements from the Mario games; anyone who played Sunset Riders will know what I'm talking about. Also, Ghouls n' Ghosts (compare the clothes on the sprite and the artwork).

That's a better joke?Zeta wrote:A better joke would be disproportionate growth. Like the head growing 10 times it's normal size but not the rest of the character.

It would be if you had to see the character drag his backwards head on the ground with his little feet struggling to keep up.

I think I remembered why I stopped posting here now. You are all a bunch of whining, guitar fondling, Jap-loving queers.
I really do not see how this game is suddenly SEGA's ET that is going to kill the gaming industry. I also do not see how Nintendo, with their amazing Added Wii Controls and Wii Play serieses, is going to make something better.

I'll like it if the jokes get better and the platforming puzzles actually manage to rival Mario and it's ilk.

Seriously, do you live in an alternate dimension or something? You keep making counterarguments when the arguments themselves never existed. Failing that, you're just plain vitriolic.Kogen wrote:I think I remembered why I stopped posting here now. You are all a bunch of whining, guitar fondling, Jap-loving queers.

...But... but... I'm not a guitar fondling queer... *sniffle*
Well, enough of that. I have to agree with Zeta that this game could do better than cheap potty-humor though. Maybe they could somehow poke fun at stupid executive decisions in the videogame industry. There'd be plenty of content for that in a company like Sega Sammy.

On a more relevant note, it seems like an interesting concept, but it's probably going to be ham handedly executed. From what we've seen so far, that looks to be the case.

Probably. But at least they sure ran one hell of a (confusing) advertising campaign.Baba O'Riley wrote:

Hasn't it been that way since Sonic Heroes? Where SEGA trumpets how great and amazing their new game is going to be, and then either expectations are built too high or the actual game itself is a piece of crap? Maybe it would best suit their interests to release games without much fanfare, and let the gaming community evulate them for itself.
I have to say though, blatant Nintendo plagiarism and poop-jokes aside, the concept behind this game is intriguing...

Yes, I am the one being harsh. Not the guys having an emotional break-down about SEGA's 5 dollar game on Wiiware.j-man wrote:Seriously, do you live in an alternate dimension or something? Also the italics represent some sort of sarcastic, unserious insult; and I was replying to the last page of whinery.

Sorry, I did not mean to cause a Situation. Was just trying to see how Zeta would reply.Delphine wrote:When Flash calls someone a whiner, we have a Situation.
Also Flash, I got myself banned with Lemon Party because they would not let me edit my own profile. Weird establishment.

Hey man, cheap shit is still shit, regardless. It's an interesting idea that seems to lack polish in the execution, something SEGA and their affiliates are becoming notorious for. People are just noticing a trend, if not being a little overzealous.Kogen wrote:Yes, I am the one being harsh. Not the guys having an emotional break-down about SEGA's 5 dollar game on Wiiware.

Re: Mysterious new SEGA game site online, By Takao Miyoshi
What I mean is that is it really worth complaining about a 5 dollar game that supposedly a small group of guys made in about four months as a joke?
I can understanding whining about something else sucking, like the new Golden Axe game, but not this. It is not like SEGA cannot make 'retro' games, look at Thunder Force 5(?) or Fantasy Zone 2 they recently released. That is when they actually try and put some sort of a budget behind it.
Also Baba is the one who fondles guitars.
