So I met Bill Clinton today...

Post by Spazz »

-well, not really, I just saw him. Actually, just the crowd covering him..
I didn't go because I was afraid I'd end up shaking his hand, and I really don't want to torch my hand off.

He's at a local booktore today that I live only 2 or 3 blocks away from, and my street is literally jam-packed with cars!

Honestly, who would want to meet this guy? I saw the crowd; it was HUGE! An entire parking lot filled with people just to have him sign his book (either that or to smack him around.) I think he's also gonna be talking about the election or something.

Just thought I'd share that. I even asked a police officer on duty while walking home, he thought it was crazy too.

Okay, I'm not dissing or anything, but what's the deal with signing your posts? I've seen lots of people doing that and it never makes sense. I mean, your name is right up there, less than ten centimetres from the post. Unless those naughty mods are playing edit-for-fun, then what's the point of pointing out your name where it's already listed?

[/waaaaaay off topic]

I don't see the attraction of Bill Clinton either.

I'd like to thank Neo Yi and Owen Axel for making all this possible. I'd thank Bill Clinton for the topic, but I don't thank creepy, creepy lechers.

We're a funny, funny country.

Regardless of how good Clinton's policies were as president, he'll be forever remembered as the guy that got his cock sucked by a chubby intern in the Oval Office. On the other hand, no one bats an eye at things that are actually, you know, important.

Abu Gharib? Pfft. Halliburton? Who cares? Monica Lewinsky? Now, wait a minute here!

It's especially funny that we pick on Clinton when you consider what a long line of known adulterous modern Presidents there have been. Kennedy, Johnson, Reagan (with his first wife, at least), yadda yadda yadda...

Because Teddy told 'em too, and Teddy was the man.

Life never has to make sense. Seriously, one of the reasons why I do that is mainly because people will know who I am, especially if I switch internet names around or something.

I honestly don't care WHAT you do with your name, signing or otherwise, I'm just saying it's kind of silly to make an argument that's already been countered.

Well, I still think Bill was an american president way, way, way better than Junior is.
Seriously, if HE gets re-elected, you're all SCREWED. I mean, he already made an image of an irracional, stupid America. If he gets more 4 years at the White House, soon or later you'll all be crushed by your (unfair) impopularity. No ofenses.

Yeah, but that doesn't count for much. You'd have to make a pretty deliberate effort to fuck things up in order to come even close to doing a worse job than Bush there.

Still, it's gotta be a great country where you don't have to be intelligent, literate, coherent, or even have the highest number of votes in order to become president.

Of course, being white, male, rich and the son of a former president with still enough ties to give democracy the old heave-ho does help.

Why do people still complain about this popular vote shit? And I have yet to see anything that has been "screwed" up during Bush's tenure. And before anyone brings up the Iraq thing, Clinton waged more campaignes then any other President, and Iraq, regardless of WMDs had been breaking UN sanctions for ten years. Hussein fucking had it coming. And if Bush did do it for revenge, props to him. I'd rather have a President that shows he has balls rather then just getting 'em sucked.

He does need to fix the damn border though.

You know, if you really feel that way about the war I think you should be there fighting it. Bush sent recent high school graduates to get killed, over a thousand, and you think that's okay for revenge. He has no balls, he ran away when he was supposed to go to war. Seriously, he's one of the worst things that ever happened to the U.S.

"I have yet to see anything that has been screwed up during Bush's tenure."

Sorry, I just felt the need to repeat that bit for some reason. I wouldn't dream of arguing against someone with that kind of stance. I'd just be wasting time if I tried, I reckon.

So did Clinton. So did Kerry. So did just about everyone in the '60s. Get over it. Why are we even talking about Vietnam?

Recent high school graduates... that CHOSE to enlist in the military. Tell me, what do you think the military does? Honestly. The entire purpose of the organization is to take and defend land from our enemies.

My question isn't why we had to do it now. My question is why did we wait so long to begin with?

Yeah, but why should we take land that's not any of our business in the first place? Just because we don't like the way another country is doing things, we should invade them? If we did that, America would be in a constant state of war against the rest of the world.
