I can't read that monologue without cracking the hell up. Brilliant parody of those SA1 promo posters. And the art kicks ass, too.

The question is, should I remove the logo and text when I submit it to the SEGA contest? Or should I just go for it and submit it as is?

I ready that completely straight-faced, stared at it a second, then laughed until my eyes watered. Brilliant.

Bah. I read*. Just a bit too slow for the edit lockout.
I'd say leave it unless you think it might win, but if I remember correctly, it's supposed to be your favorite moment in Sonic history, so…. Then again, it would be so awesome if that won.

Do we have any Europeans or Australians here? You guys got a time extention due to Sega screwing up their server. If you've previously submitted, do it again by the 26th.

I also found a pre-apocalyptic version of Bitey the Shark:

Re: Sonic and the Black Knight shark-jumping art contest
Nice Esrever! Hilarious stuff.
All this reminds me of a "Team Aqua" I created back around the time I was hyped for Sonic Heroes. It consisted of a shark(power), manta ray(speed), and an octopus(flight-he spun his legs around helicopter-style). I wanna dig those drawings up now.
Anyway here's my official entry for both contests.

Not much changed from the version presented in the art thread, but school stuff kept me from starting the coloring over like I wanted. I feel kind of alone now for taking the subtle approach=P

On the other hand, your entry actually has a chance of winning the Sega contest!

So school's really been tiring me out and I haven't had the chance to finish my entry. Does the deadline extend all the way to midnight (which I assume is what, seven hours away?), or should I just can it and hit the sack?

Re: Sonic and the Black Knight shark-jumping art contest
Well, disregard the above post or whatever, here's my last minute entry.

It was a bit rushed so it didn't exactly turn out how I wanted it, but I still spent a good while getting most details right. Do note that I started this one before I realized you guys weren't going for the "serious" type entry, but rather the "gag that'll win GHZ contest but not Sega one" type. Silly me.

Re: Sonic and the Black Knight shark-jumping art contest
I would buy a copy of Sonic and the Black Knight without hesitation if one these entries actually makes it into the game.
Especially if Esrever's piece is chosen. I could see Sega buying (or stealing) the rights to Bitey the Shark from him if they were to see that picture.

Was there ever a joke effort to make the best fan character in the community?

Wasn't Leaf the six-tailed chimp green? I'm almost sure he was green.
And I second the idea of a silly fan character contest - even if it's just for Nitro's populous supporting cast.

Re: Sonic and the Black Knight shark-jumping art contest
As I wasn't around back then, could someone please enlighten me about his origins or post a link to a corresponding thread?
By the design alone I'd say Bitey the Shark definitely wins.
