Re: Shake a Fat Man
Any thing based off a video game sucks... except maybe the Kirby anime.... and the CGI Donkey Kong Country show for sheer weirdness/cheese value. For the record, I wasn't asking for an anime. I was asking for a US-produced show, though if they really did make one, it would end up being worse than a potential anime.

Yeah, and the OVA and Adventures weren't that bad. They weren't epic masterpieces, but they were pretty decent for being what they are.

The Sonic OVA wants to have a word with you.

What about the Earthworm Jim cartoon? I though that was pretty good.Rob-Bert wrote:Any thing based off a video game sucks... except maybe the Kirby anime.... and the CGI Donkey Kong Country show for sheer weirdness/cheese value.

Re: Shake a Fat Man
That was back in the nineties, when people cared. I can guarantee anything made now would be some Japanese computer-coloured shit made on a showstring budget, with all the complicated bits done in CGI to save time, money and effort. And we'd all hate it. And we'd all write petitions, etc etc. See the atrocious Kirby cartoon. Yeah, I gave it the benefit of the doubt and now I really wish I hadn't.

The Kirby cartoon sucked for the same reason Sonic X sucked:
Tiff and Tuff = Chris Throndyke.

That wasn't good, either (and what was the girl with cat ears and a monkey tail? What was the point to THAT!?). Neither was Sonic X.P.P.A. wrote:The Sonic OVA wants to have a word with you.
The really early Pokemon episodes are, at least from a children's show point of view, the most watchable anime adaption of a video game I've seen in the last decade or so (it's certainly better than that rubbish Kirby anime). I hear Gungrave is good too, but I don't know many people who've seen it.

The Pokemon Adventures (aka Pocket Monsters Special) comic is the only Pokemon adaptation that actually got it.

I wasn't talking about comics..
Pokemon Adventures is a little too mean-spirited for my tastes (although the Pokemon battles are pretty cool). Ooh, every gym leader from Kanto is evil and a member of Team Rocket! Some ingenuity there.

I saw most of it and thought it was too serious, dry, and boring. I've never played the games though. A friend of mine loved both the anime and the games, so I guess they tie together closely.Tsuyoshi-kun wrote: I hear Gungrave is good too, but I don't know many people who've seen it.

Brock, Misty and Erika were good, Blaine turned good and Giovanni was a villain in the game anyway. It was a clever way of upping the villain count without making up new characters who weren't in the games.Tsuyoshi-kun wrote:Pokemon Adventures is a little too mean-spirited for my tastes (although the Pokemon battles are pretty cool). It took me a good ten minutes to reply, as I just couldn't look away.
My vote is the latter option.

I think it pauses too much when his left buttock is raised.
The fact I noticed this probably means there's no hope left for me, doesn't it?

There would be no hope for you if you fixed it. Then again, part of me thinks you should. ¬_¬Shadow Hog wrote:I think it pauses too much when his left buttock is raised.

There's a reason that level's called "Jiggle Jungle".
Honestly, Syrup HAS to be the final boss. Has to be. That'd be one helluva way to revisit Wario Land 2, frankly...

It's so beautiful... Especially the animations. And it seems to play well too, my fears of remote shaking being used for almost every basic action is blown away! Could... could this game restore my faith in Nintendo?Isuka wrote:So, so sexy...

I was pretty much sold by the squeaking noises when he tries to fit down the pipes.
PPA, it'd be nice if things could, y'know, just be "good", "bad" or "OK". Not "resurrection of my faith in humanity", "harbinger of painful demise to all things dear to me", or "wrist-slittingly derivative".

You have yet to abuse the vernacular of hyperbole to its breaking point, so.. mind-numbingly saviorrific it is! Shit, I might use that.

This looks fan-freaking-tastic. You can see the characters BREATHE. In CELL ANIMATION.
