Does that face in neon in the first screen belong to Booster from Mario RPG?

This looks sweet, I've really missed 2D platformers. Hell, 2D games in general.

Nah, that's the new bad guy that appeared in the shots of the animated cutscenes earlier.G.Silver wrote:Does that face in neon in the first screen belong to Booster from Mario RPG?

Although to be fair, Booster always kind of looked like Wario with a beard, so.

Here, has a NTSC logo.
Hell, why not have a Kirby one too.
Both of these are totally "Day One" buys for me.

Multiple missions per stage? Hmm... I'm unsure.
This is actually getting pretty exciting, especially seeing the logo again. And the Kirby fanservice in Brawl has worn off on me too much - I may pick up Super Star Ultra, as well.

Re: Shake a Fat Man
The Kirby logo is adorable. It's in English which would suggest that this could be on the North American box of the game. If this is true this would mark the first time since Kirby 64: the Crystal shards that Nintendo of America had not tried to make Kirby look intimidating by giving him "angry eyebrows".
Why they would do this I don't know. He's a pink ball with feet, arms, and a face. And he prioritizes eating, sleeping, and friendly competitions with the individual who was supposed to be his arch nemesis: what Wikipedia describes as "an obese penguin creature" and is characterized as "often caring only about himself, he caused many problems for the inhabitants of Dream Land through selfish mischief." and while Kirby often accuses him for problems, for example he's missing cake in Squeak Squad, Kirby seems to find it in the bottom of his heart to forgive DeDeDe.
And Nintendo of America wants me to believe that the creature I described is some kind of menacing acts kicking monster of Badness?

Kirby Superstar will be the first time I turn my DS on in over a year.

Re: Shake a Fat Man
Wario Land sounds to me like it'll be a mix of WL2, 3 and 4 all wrapped into one game of supreme kick-awesomeness. Having the Kirby Super Star remake is better than a release on the VC.

Last I checked, Wario Land 3 did that. And it did it beautifully.K2J wrote:Multiple missions per stage? Hmm... I'm unsure.
I've known about the Super Star remake for a while now, but it's nice to finally have Nintendo shed some more info on it after, like, an entire friggin' year.

Re: Shake a Fat Man
I wish they'd just put Kirby Superstar on the VC and make a new Kirby game for the DS instead. I thought the Virtual Console had ended the era of paying $35 for ports of decade-old Super Nintendo games with added minigames.

Darn, now I wish I had a DS. I used to play the fuck out of the original Kirby Super Star.
So, did you get that Nights port for the PS2?Segaholic2 wrote:Ha ha ha ha ha, this is Nintendo we're talking about here.

To be fair, this is the first time they've done this since launching the service.

Re: Shake a Fat Man
Kirby Super Star was pretty much the best damn title in the whole series and it went downhill from there. If there are any new non-minigame modes in the game (like a Meta-Knight and King Dedede playable mode) I'm sold.

Re: Shake a Fat Man
It looks like you could very well get your wish...
The DS game will feature new modes called Revenge of the King and Meta Knight Ultra, and new touch screen mini-games for Download Play. There is even a local co-op mode for two.

Pretty sure you killed him with curry, actually. And if they're willing to bring it back via Brawl, then, well, why not?

No, it was the Mint Leaf. The Mint Leaf was basically the midair version of the Curry, except it gave you unlimited flight and air puffs.

And, well, it certainly looks like a Wario Land game all right!

That looks slightly cellshaded 2.5D at times. Then again YouTube Quality (TM) can obscure a lot. And even IF it's not fully true 2D I'd give it credit for looking so convincingly as if it was.

Yup, the whole thing is beautifully, wonderfully hand drawn. This is fantastic!
