I like how they upped the contrast on him. I just hope he isn't
too cheap.
Black Rook wrote:Since then, he's treated the electric guitar like a diva, and frankly I'm tired of it. I'd almost like to see the instrument banned from anything Sonic related for a while.
Barring it from all of Sonic feels a little much, but I would like to see it banned from Jun's writing for a good long time. When he's writing for a vocalist, his hooks are head and shoulders above his score melodies, if there are any at all; most of the time he'll just sleepwalk through a power chord "progression" (read: riff).
I pretty much had that exact viewpoint, though, but the instant that electric guitar cut through the Levitated Ruins BGM on Secret Rings, (and I believe it was Kenichi Tokoi who was in charge of the arrangements on that one, who gets too little credit), I kind of realized that something was missing up until then. It's kind of a sacreligious thought for a 16-bit-borne saga, but keep in mind the music's been penned by a rock star since day one. Really, I'd make a point of owning the Secret Rings soundtrack if it weren't for Steven Conte's ridiculous vocal work (whose name I frequently and intentionally mispronounce).
Food for thought: Last third party dude: Rayman? I mean, Raving Rabbids has become something of a Wii staple.
