And a Bah Humbug to you all too
It is now officially Christmas Day. So, what are your plans?
Mine are just opening presents, one of which will inevitably be Super Mario Galaxy, and then proceeding to tear into the ones that I particularly like. Ham dinner falls somewhere in there. Same as always. Meanwhile, I actually HAVE one of those presents, Phantom Hourglass, and should be tearing into that right now instead of posting here. Hmmm...

Re: And a Bah Humbug to you all too
I was about to post one of these entitled 'Happy Christmas you heartless bastards,' but this works too. Hopefully this will degenerate into a swag thread so someone can top last year's winner, Pop's grand fucking piano. The best thing I know I'm getting is a shiny new electronic Kanji dictionary, so someone else is going to have to step up. As for plans, I'll be helping host a big family gathering at my home. I'm pretty stoked because our family friend from Brazil is coming, and he always brings awesome food.
Phantom Hourglass is decent. It's basically a modernized, somewhat diluted version of Link's Awakening, which I consider the best entry in the series. Just don't go in expecting a great plot, and get ready for more boring boating segments.

Ooh, that's good to know. Link's Awakening was my favorite Zelda as well...

Yeah, Merry Christmas you lucky bastards
Well, I just bought a nice pair of noise-cancelling earphones and... well, that's it.
I'm thinking of going nuts and getting a VF-1S next year, but that may just be the booze taking its toll.

I should be wading through $1,186 worth of computer parts right now, but they haven't arrived yet, so aside from a cheap digital watch, Reese's Cups and a pack of Crisp Kringles, I got zero presents this Christmas. That's as many as zero tens, and that's terrible.
Just as well, though! I'd only wind up screwing up something critical during the building process, anyway- like, say, the processor will somehow wind up in my mouth, or the heatsink compound will squirt in my eye or something ridiculous like that. These things happen quite frequently!

I came here with the intent of wishing everyone a merry christmas, then Oompa posted that his birds died. :( I'm sorry for your loss, Oompa.

Best thing I got was a remastered version of the original Transformers movie. Which is fucking cool.
I also got a bottle of Wash and Go shampoo.
Next year, I'm writing a list.

The highlights of my morning would be the two disc special edition of The life Aquatic (one of my all time favorite movies), all four of the uber detailed twilight princess figurines, a great hat, a book, a box of Metal Star Trek collector cards, the ironic gift of a stuffed blue hedgehog (not sonic, just a hedgehog) and some other misc. items.

Three sets of pajamas.
Some other things too, but that's the highlight.

Also, other assorted items.

Re: And a Bah Humbug to you all too
Gaming-wise I only got Super Mario Galaxy and 2000 Wii Points. I also got a new sweater, a pair of very comfortable slippers, and 3 CD's (yeah I'm living in the stone age) - Blue October's Foiled for the Last Time, Dave Matthew Band's Remedy, and Bedouin Soundclash's Street Gospels.
My big present for the year was some brand new luggage (I've been using an old, red suite case from the early 70's for my travels). It was rather depressing since it was obviously intended to be for my trip to Japan that I was supposed to take this January, but can no longer afford...
Otherwise, it's been a very good Christmas.

Mario Galaxy, NiGHTs 2 (which is pretty decent, actually, even if the textures suck), a second Wiimote, a TieDye Grumpy Carebear, Transformers and Spiderman mini Heroes, a Transformer that actually Transforms, and a new Tamagotchi.
Keep it to yourself, pops!I have an unabashed adoration of dolphins, doncha know.

Re: And a Bah Humbug to you all too
Let's see...the short list:
> Wii Zapper
> Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games
> Wii Classic Controller
> Rayman Raving Rabbids 2
> TRANSFORMERS[2007]: The Score
> The Simpsons Movie
> Ghost Rider: Extended Cut
> 6-pack Orange Crush
> gift cards (Target, Borders, Barnes & Noble, Regal Cinemas, and Blockbuster)
> socks and underwear... *grumble grumble*
Not sure what I'll get with the gift cards yet--prolly the new TF movie and some other random games and gaming accessories.

Got a Wii, along with Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess, an 80gig iPod (was not expecting this), some food, and various gift cards/checks. Definitely did good this year.

Re: And a Bah Humbug to you all too
I actually had Christmas a little early for myself and got a refurbished white 20" iMac from Apple just last week. I have to say, I really like having everything dumbed down and flashy, since having grown out of the "I like to tweak every aspect of my PC and watch as various things break for the strangest reason" phase. It's an interesting change, for certain.

I got a sexy new Martin DCX1E. It's in the post.
Other than that, I just got really, really drunk. I think I'm also about to get laid. So, you know, Merry fuckin' Christmas.

I got lots of money in the form of small bills, since everybody is apparently in the Chinese New Year spirit. I also got the Buster-kun thing in my avatar.

Re: And a Bah Humbug to you all too
Possibly my best present this year was my copy of Airplane!: "Don't Call Me Shirley" Edition. Shame that DVD-rip-to-iPod software had to have that DRM protection. I also got a new pair of over-the-ear headphones, since those "earbud" kind always seem to fall out of my earwax-laden lobes.
Also, Link's Awakening was my first, and favorite, Zelda game, in case anyone's taking a poll.
Did you play the first one? It's not terribly essential, but it's also probbably the best warm-up for the type of logic in the series. If you stick through the entire trilogy, the last case of T&T rocks exponentially more.Ngangbius wrote:Games:

I own the first game for since last year, but I never played it yet. I know, shame on me. :(K2J wrote:Did you play the first one?
