Faithful?

Post by Brazillian Cara »

I know this may be older than time here at the forum but...does anyone got more than excited when Sega decided to put sonic games in the Nintendo consoles?

Talk in the right tense dude.

Yeh, I did get a little excited, because, at the time, I hadn't played a Sonic game in years, and the next console I was getting was a Game Cube.

Sonic Team hurt those expectations with SA2B and Sonic Advance, made them better with DX, and then completely destroyed them with Sonic Heroes.

I think I have some kind of thing for dying consoles. I mean, it's like as soon as one that I had no interest in starts doing poorly, I suddenly feel compelled to look into it. It was pretty much like that with the Dreamcast. I was only like 10 or 11 while the Dreamcast was in full swing and I never really gave it (or Sega) a second glance, being the stupid PlayStation fanboy that I was. I only really started to consider buying a Dreamcast after it died. When I did, I became instantly hooked and was shocked that such a great system and games could be had for so cheap. I was really obsessed with the Dreamcast for a while.

So, it wasn't really that big of a deal for me (though I grew to be sad that the Dreamcast was gone). It doesn't matter what system(s) a game comes out for now. I have all current systems (sans N-Gage). The real problem starts when the next console war starts and I have to pick one system to start out with.

You don't deserve the name "Segata".

I was later really obsessed with the Saturn. Know your role.

Pfft. Some of us were loving our Saturns before it was cool.

Aye. I was playing Clockwork Knight and Bug! way back in 1995. Sure, Bug! sucked, but it's the principle of the thing.

Hold up, Lee...were Saturns ever actually cool?

It's cooler now than it was at the time, because it's "passe" or "retro" or some shit. But none of them will ever have the satisfaction of purchasing Panzer Dragoon Saga brand new from a games store.

They might, you'd be surpized what you can find at the right place. Doubtful though.

I'm not sure I was aware the Saturn existed when around the time it first came out.

That was literally the best day of my gaming life. Granted, I couldn't figure out how to move forward when on my dragon and had to look in the manual, but I was young. It was the 'B' button, dammit. The 'B' button.
I play that game through at least once every couple months.

Sadly I fell victim to the Playstation, which has fueled my hate for Sony. In retrospect though, it was probably the right decision.

You have Panzer Dragoon Saga? I'll trade you straight up for my first born child.

That's definitely one of those "only on a game board" type of statements.

Does deeply wanting and desiring the Sega Saturn for four years count?

(The same thing later happened with the Dreamcast, though I managed to buy it in 2002)
