I have Phantasy Star 2 in my Mega Drive, Wonder Boy 3 in my Master System, FF7 in my PS2, and Super Smash Bros. in my Game Cube.

My younger sister's favorite game of mine is Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast, so that's what's inserted into there. I've heard Casinopolis' music so goddamned much by now that I can derive no enjoyment from it ever again.

Otherwise? Resident Evil on the Saturn. JP import. I am in love with the uncut intro.

Umm... I normally take stuff out of my consoles. However, I think I have Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution in my PS2 and Capcom VS. SNK 2 in my Dreamcast.

As it happens, I'm an RPG junkie, although I wouldn't go as far to say that FF7 is the greatest game ever, that's just fanboyism.

FF7 is a good game, but I MUCH perfer FF6 and FF9. Vivi rules.

As for the topic at hand...

N64: Zelda, Majora's Mask
PS2: FF9 and that dreaded Sonic Heroes (because after two months or so of gathering dust, I was daring enough to beat the last level of Team Sonic, damn lasers).

PS2-- Katamari Damacy. I can't stress how wonderful this game is, incidentally-- I'll probably write something about it at some point. Xbox-- Halo, which I've just this minute finished for the second time. Gamecube-- Animal Crossing. Dreamcast I'm unsure of, but almost certainly Shenmue 1. Saturn's Panzer Dragoon Saga, and N64 is Mario Kart 64.

Life is pretty full, really.

Dreamcast - Some old-as-hell ODCM demo disk with Jet Set Radio, Demolition Racer, Ecco the Dolphin, Gauntlet Legends and a REALLY freakin' long FMV preview of Shenmue. I play JSR on it quite a bit despite actually owning the full game, and the other demos compliment it nicely

Playstation - I.. can't even find my Playstation right now, but the last game I think I played was Panzer Bandits. Or Chrono Trigger.

N64 - Perfect Dark. Was playing BotMatch with my cousin in July on it.

Saturn - Nothin'. I think NiGHTS was in here, though, before I brought it up stairs to rip the ISO to see how it worked in that Cassini emulator (which is just a hack of Giri Giri, nothing special)

PC - Last game I played was the Far Cry Demo, last game I played from the CD was... uh.... SADX? I think? Either that or Max Payne

I try not to leave the games inside. However, the last game I played for the PS2 was a replay of Silent Hill 2, and the last game I played for the Gamecube was... er, a replay of the REmake. I've been all about the horror, lately.

I too usually take the games out of the system once I'm done with it, but the games I've been playing on each are:

PS2 - I've been playing Bujingai lately, which is only worth noting because you can play as J-Rock star Gackt, and well, Gackt sucks... But the game is decent. Maaya Sakamoto was in the Japanese version, but since they decided to dub it for the U.S. release, her part is no longer in the game. (They did not dub Gackt, though... Since all he says are the names of his special attacks.)

Gamecube - Started on F-Zero GX, which I just bought on the cheap. Big Blue- Ordeal is the best track.

Gameboy Advance - Started playing FF Tactics Advance again, but goddamn, those filler missions are boring.

Saturn - NiGHTS is actually still in my Saturn, I think. I should put it back in it's case...

Dreamcast - Found my old copy of Bangai-O and decided to replay it.

I still wish they hadn't abandonned the charming storytelling style of the original for the incessant chatter and fourth-walling, but it still looks, sounds and plays fantastic. If only ALL "disappointing" sequels were still this good....

Gameboy Advance (Player) - Yoshi's Island. Just one of the many great SNES games I missed out on the first time around.

Dreamcast - Bust a Move 4. This is probably the only DC game that gets played around here much anymore, simply because it's still the best multiplayer iteration of the series.

SNES - It's actually my girlfriend's SNES, but it's visiting over here right now and it's loaded with Tetris Attack, one of the best puzzle games EVER. Why won't they release that damn Nintendo Puzzle Collection for the Cube over here?

Yeah, that really put me off, too. I guess it's a good thing that they try and go for a different unique style for each game (compare Rayman 1 to Rayman 2, for instance)... but... I dunno. John Leguizamo? It really put me off after I played the Rayman 3 demo. Somewhere about halfway through Rayman 2 something just clicked with me. It was the most fun I'd had with a 3D platformer in years and years. Made me feel I was 13 again, playing Mario World or Donkey Kong Country.

I never leave games in a system. I don't even leave the controllers plugged in. I should probably dust them more often than I do, though...

I just finished playing Front Mission 3 for the PS1, which I'd had lying around for a while. It's good at first, but the more you play, the worse it gets. After about 20 hours or so the story turns into an utter disaster and the characters are completely forgettable and it's got one of those stilted, PSX era Squaresoft translations so I never know what the characters are talking about. You usually can't even tell they're having the same conversation. It got to the point where I was just tapping the X button, like, "Damn, I don't know what's going on, just bring me to the next fight."

I made it to what I think is the final battle, but the way the game works, you get a team of 8 members, but you can only ever use 4 in any one battle. So of course I just pick my favorite 4 and totally neglect everyone else, then you get to the final battle and you have to divide your party of 8 into two teams, each with a fairly difficult battle. I knew I was doomed, but I made one feeble effort with my pansy squad and of course they got ass-raped. That's just plain bad design and I don't care what happens anyway, so I just quit.

I'm now far less interested in starting part 4, which I have sitting on my shelf in its original factory wrap, but from what I hear is inferior to part 3. And I thought that one kind of sucked.

I think I've talked about FM4 here before... But why the hell not...

I actually enjoyed Front Mission 4 quite a bit when I rented it (kept it for like a week and a half)... I think I got around halfway into it, but overall it was mostly enjoyable.

I think you do have a maximum of 8 characters in this one too, though you use all of them in every fight, which atleast helps keep things balanced. Plus the new link system, which lets you link combo attacks from multiple characters into one turn is pretty useful and cool looking once you get the hang of it... Nothing like gang-raping one wanzer with your entire squad.

Damaging specific parts is pretty cool too... There's nothing more sadistically pleasurable than blowing an enemy wanzer's arms off and watching as it flails around the battlefield helplessly. Also, after earning a special skill, wanzers equipped with sniper rifles can target specific parts of the body, meaning a couple of critcal shots to the body of the wanzer will take an enemy out faster than with other kinds of guns (rather than shotguns, which hit all parts of the wanzer with buckshot, or a machine guns, which hit a random part)...

The two biggest problems with this game is that its damn ugly and the A.I. is about as smart as a used tampon-- Square seems to have realized that the A.I. was woefully incompetent, but instead of trying to make it smarter, they tried to compensate by making you horribly outnumbered in everyfight. Even then, the enemy is pretty predictable-- Once one of your units enters their range, they'll blindly chase and attack that one unit until its dead, they'll even continue attacking that one target while your other guys mercilessly pound it. Oh, and the voices are horribly stereotypical...

Overall, its nothing I'd pay full price for, but it's worth picking up once the price drops. But then again, you already bought it, so you might as well give it a shot.

Yeah, I'll start it, probably tomorrow.

I thought the combat in FM3 was fairly interesting. It does get kind of bullshit later on when you're up against twice as many enemies as you have wanzers and they all have the same amount of HP that you do. But I really liked being able to piece together my own mechs and stealing parts from surrendered enemies. Being able to destroy specific parts of a mech is neat, but you should have control over what you hit all the time. For some reason, enemy mechs always managed to hit the body components of my mechs, but when I attacked them the damage would always end up fucking distributed between their secondary parts. It's kind of frustrating. You should never have to rely on luck in a strat-RPG.

Plus, I somehow managed to miss, like, all the women in the game. The characters you end up with apparently depend on the choices you make, and out of 8 characters I got only two chicks. The others were all sweaty bumblefudders I didn't care about. I really wanted that hot police chick.
