I had a friend that got a Saturn one Christmas. She also got Sonic 3D Blast, which I really didn't think was too great. But as soon as we hit those special stages, holy shit they were the coolest thing that I had seen in a Sonic game. Then I see the PC version in a bargin bin, and think "Eh, why not." Get to the special stage, and the first thought that pops into my mind was the equivalent of "what the fuck is this shit." Bastards.
I don't think that Saturn emus have improved in quality or in terms of what games they can play. Just a handful of titles that're actually playable, and everything else either being glitched to all hell or just flat out doesn't run. Shame.Segaholic2 wrote:EDIT: Or I could try with emulating again. Haven't bothered with Saturn emu in a while. Hm...

Last time I tried Sonic 3D in SSF, it ran pefectly, down to the special stages. Should be fine.Segaholic2 wrote:They are fantastic. I could possibly try to record some videos of them at some point when I actually have all the equipment handy and I can be arsed.

Special Stage Development
Game Designers (SOJ): Takashi Iizuka, Daisuke Mori
Programmers (SOJ): Tetsu Katano, Yasuhiro Takahashi, Atsutomo Nakagawa, Kazuhiko Hattori
Artists (SOJ): Kazuyuki Hoshino, Yuji Uekawa, Nobuhiko Honda, Shinichi Higashi, You Nishiyama, Sachiko Kawamura
So the only good part of S3DB (besides the music) was made in Japan after all. I bet that did a LOT to resolve the SegaSonic conspiracy theories...
