It's hard to really sum up Yokoyama, as it's not really about anything. Like G.Silver already said, though, it's very laid back and calm. There is a lot of capters where Alpha, the main character (female robot), just hangs out and watches the scenery. Which is actually better than it sounds, since the art is so nice.
It's really something you have to read for yourself. You can download chapters here;

Wow, I'm surprised to learn I'm not the only one here who likes YKK. I've really got to start reading it again, I've only read the first 3 volumes. It's kind of a shame this series isn't out in America.
Oh, and I thought that old man was going to be some sort of lecherous creep, but I was pleasantly surprised....

I didn't like the ending. It stopped way too suddenly, and towards the end, time was skipping too much. Years flew by between single chapters.
That said, the way the creator managed to develop a feeling that an ending was coming was indeed very good. There's some unanswered questions too, for example Alpha's master, the Alpha in the sky and the Misago.
There's also nudity for those interested in that.

Found this on IGN
IGN wrote: The currently untitled Animal Crossing animated movie is is being prepared for a planned Japanese opening in December. Serving as director is Jouji Shimura, known for his work on Master Keaton and Shin Angyo Onshi. The game's staff is said to be cooperating on the project, which promises to retain the themes that have helped the game appeal to all audiences.
A US release for the movie has yet to be announced.

I still doubt it. Looking at the upcoming animated films all seem to be involving animals.Zeta wrote:Because they're easier to animated in CGI, since you don't have to worry about the uncanny valley. Luckily, with Monster House, Incredibles, and Meet the Robinsons, it looks like the age of 3-D furries might be ending.

It's probably not due to the fact that it's easier to animate, but rather that cartoon animals can express more emotion than probably any other character type out there.
OK, for a more logical reason blame Madagascar. After that took off like a rocket, everybody wanted a piece.

http://elothtes.pbwiki.com/FurniliarNext up: a 3D animation featuring furniture. (Because furniture is SO expressive!)
Does the Brave Little Toaster count?
Perhaps Animal Forest the movie ends in a strange world where Furniture evolved from animals, and they blew it up, those bastards?
