I don't suppose you have any idea what the minimum required specs for the PC version are likely to be? I have no plans to buy a 360 or PS3 in the near future but my PC is nearly 2 years old so I wouldn't be surprised if it's not capable of running the game.

Actually, on the PC version, i can actually confirm that it will come out on PC around the same time as the console versions.
F*CK! I bought a 360 just to play this game!

^No love for Oblivion, Mass Effect, or that game that features formerly bald space marines?

Or are you being sarcastic?

Well, it wasn't Swift like I thought it was. Updated, but wait, you're John Taylor? Didn't see that one.

Actually, this news (about the PC version, that is) pleases me greatly. I'd been in doubt here, but now I know I can at least import the thing.

Oblivion has hollowed out my body and only left room for the manic race to gain +5 stat bonuses.

Does that mean you own a 360 and possibly have a Live account?

[sarcasm]Yeah, cuz I really want to play another FPS or RPG[/sarcasm]

That said, Dead Rising looks like it might be worth a purchase...

Fucking hell no, E3 2005 was when the first tech demo was shown off, the only "playable" segment in there was the item boxes getting tossed around and that really doesn't count. It didn't actually start to come together as a came until TGS 2005, less than a year ago, when there was those videos with the bottomless pits and day and night system. It looked incredibly early then, like to a point where I couldn't even fathom them being finished it within a year.

Looking down the topic review section while typing this I see Blaze actually said basically the same thing, but I'll post anyway just as multiple people feeling the same way should make it quite clear it seems really unlikely they could make a fully polished "re-invention" in such a short time, especially since it still looked dodgy at E3 this year. I sort of wish they'd push it back into 2007, even if it meant missing the anniversary.

Hey I'm just listing some various AAA titles that usually prompt people into buying a X360. But I guess could have said in your case "No love for Viva Pinata, Alan Wake, and Kameo?"

The answer is yes to both.

And never mention Kameo to me ever again. EVER EVER AGAIN.

JamminGtarman.

I did not pick it, you see. It would have been GentleGiant, but that was stolen.

Words cannot describe my anticipation of this game.

Not a particularly major piece of news but there's an interview with Masahiro Kumono on the Summer of Sonic site that confirms Amy's in the game. I'm sure most people were expecting that anyway though.

It wouldn't be the first time that someone's offered themselves to me on the internet for an unfair price.

I dunno, I was kind of hoping she wouldn't show up since the setting sounded like it was a different world from the old norm, whatever it was at last count. A man can dream, though. A man can dream.

*shrugs* I thought OCB already hinted that Cream&Cheese were the only ones from the Rush cast who wouldn't appear in this game months ago.
6. Sonicはどのような方向性に向かっていくと思いますか?

6. What direction do you think Sonic will take in the future?

A. 今後より全世界の幅広い年齢層の方に向けて、世代を超え愛されるキャラクターになっていくだろうと思っています。今後ともSonicをよろしくお願い致します。

A. Toward a wider range of consumers, I think that he will become a character loved by a lot of people exceeding the generation. Thank you very much for your continuous support on Sonic.
For that to happen, they would need to remove Sonic's voice box at least.

As strange as it may sound, most televisions have this thing called a "volume down" button. Decent voice acting isn't going to save the Sonic series, mainly because it never really had any even in Japanese.

I never said they should attempt to give Sonic a decent voice--just make him mute. After watching the Segagaga clips that features a mute Sonic(sans some choice sound effects), I found his character to be more charming than whatever outdated slang he sputters.

Even if they did gave Sonic a decent voice, it wouldn't fix the questionable quality of some of his lines and people would still complain.

I wonder what would the franchise be like if Sonic thoughout the 3D games had the same amount of 'speaking' as Link from the Zelda games?

And turning the volume down low would be the easy way fix the voice problem, but then I wouldn't be able to hear the music either. XD

Voiceless Sonic would also be pretty interesting. In an era where everybody seems to get a hard on from giving any and every videogame character a voice (with people bitching that Zelda games don't feature voice acting), having cutscenes in a Sonic game feature no dialogue at all would be very unique.
