They're fun to mock? I like VII and X, but I couldn't care less about the other games. Even VI.

^Meh. The best ones to mock are the Normura-involved ones which includes FFVII and its spin-offs, FFVIII, FFX, and the soon to be FFXIII versus.

I mean the man's in love with a 400 year old vampire and shoves him in his games for god's sake.

Like Jacko. And I though FF VII original art (that of the game) was from Yoshitaka Amano.

Nomura designed FFVII's characters, then Amano came in later and did some artwork based on those designs for packaging and promotions and such. Same deal with FFVIII and FFX.

He's like a Japanese Anne Rice character. Which means that 2 years from now, he'll be Jesus.

And yet it is better than Normura's art.

That explains why I liked FF VII; what I liked was Amano's sketches.
And it also explains why I can stomach FF VIII's if they're drawn by anyone other than Nomura and/ or his team.

A friend of mine actually went to some Gackt/Dir-En-Grey concert they held in America, and he said that Gackt cut himself on stage.

Maybe he's not effeminate and weird, he's just emo.

Fuck cutting yourself's not the weirdest thing you can do on a stage.

I recall hearing that he nearly drowned as a child, and upon surviving the experience began saying he could hear voices and had special powers...

...he's batshit insane.

PS-Apparently, he doesn't want to have kids because he doesn't want to burden them with his powers.

Also, he went to a mental hospital for ten years, or some other long period of time. And his parents were very traditional.

Also, the only reason he says he doesn't want kids is to avoid fangirls expecting anything from him.

That's no surprise. The guy thinks he's like 400 years old.

I've never heard of him until this thread, but all the pictures you guys posted look like a girl. I wouldn't of even questioned it if you didn't say something. So is this guy a cosplayer or a singer or both or what?

Fixed.

And yes, they're pretty similar.
Talking about Saint Seiya, the version the USA got couldn’t be more screwed if they tried.

and about FF, what happened whith that animated movie, it was good?.

You mean Advent Children? Well, not so much a story as it is filled with Matrix-inducing action scenes.

If you refer to "The Spirits Within", maybe the movie's right name's simply that; scrap the "Final Fantasy" thing out of it.
While you're aware of this, it's a fine movie, if they had to do it with real actors it would be pretty generic, but still fine I think.

Also about the Saint Seiya thing, American versions of all anime are fucked right from the start unless they go for the VHS/ DVD less massive market. It's safe-n-dandy for gunning and cursing in American TV, but not some well animated nekkid boobies. Or even quality pieces such as Miyazaki's.

I heard of this Gackt guy through a friend who told me the reason of Nomura's fixed idea for bad/ pop-jap-appealing character designs, but didn't see a pic of him until now. Not very surprised, in fact most j-pop and j-rock singers look like this.
