I think it's a rule now that every popular Japanese game must have an anime.

It's a rule just starting now? They've been doing it for years.

Just like every popular star used to need a cartoon, like M.C. Hammer and Micheal Jordan.

At least a few years now Japanese animation companies had some restraint (took Bomberman 16 years before he had a TV series, and the pop'n music TV series was cancelled years ago). Now it just seems like anything for kids can be a 26 / 52 episode series.

At least with Sonic and Mega Man you can have a plot. How do you make a TV series about catching monkeys as its central plot?

Who cares, it's Ape Escape.

Also, when does the show start airing over there?

April, the Japanese equivalent of September for Saturday morning show premiers.

I knew it. I remember seeing in some America kid's website which for the love of God, I cannot remember what it was, mentioning an Ape Escape anime. As for the anime itself...eh.

Ape Escape has at least as much going for its plot as Sonic or Mega Man do. You've got the Professor, the ragtag heroic kids, the evil mastermind ape, the evil professor, and then the army of lesser apes, each of whom has a uniquely quirky personality. It's all there.

I can't wait for a Super Monkey Ball anime. SMB2's story was just riveting.

Speaking of Megaman anime, was it any good? I saw this on Google Video, and it inspired me to find out more.

To cut to the chase, should I look for DVD sets?

As far as I know, 4Kids pretty much dumbed it down.

Wait, you mean the version on WB? That one sucked, but the one in the video looked ten times better--it had Chill Penguin, and that's good news to me.

... that isn't an anime. It's a FMV from Irregular Hunter X, my reason to get a PSP.

Are you talking about that Megaman Battle Network anime? That wasn't 4Kids mess. ShoPro were the ones responsible for dubbing it and KidsWB gave them even further imput to make more palettable for its audience.

Not that it matters, since the whole Battle Network thing is stupid to begin with.

As are these Rockman <a href="http://manna.revolver-knight.com/articl ... ">OVA</a>s.

And, as of Ape Escape 3, the boobalicious milf. She's my favorite.

There's a boobalicious milf in Ape Escape 3?

Indeed! Akie, who is your contact during missions ala Natsumi/Natalie and the Professor. She has a big poof of popcorn hair that jiggles (her massive boobies, sadly, do not).

The best part of that picture, aside from the mammaries, is Snake in the background.

I'm sure that picture sparks quite a few Solid Snakes.

Disney Adventures is WEIRD.

There was a museum level in Ape Escape?

Oh, shit, I read that issue. I'm trying my hardest to find it again somehow for the Crash Team Racing comic located in the same issue as the Ape Escape one.
