You can't use autofire if you're playing the game on the original PlayStation with a turbo controller made during or prior to 1998. Otherwise you're fine.smiths32 wrote:Speaking of MGS torture sequence, does Occelot actually know if your using turbo/auto fire? Or is his claims akin to some random guy saying that we're getting Chinese Democracy this year?

It's supposedly related to Tales of Phantasia. Based on the people reports who have played both games.smiths32 wrote:Symphonia's the only one I've played but from what knowledge I can gather, I believe that some of its events link to Tales of Destiny (or maybe another one), but it's not exactly anything special, just a sort of easter egg for those that played the earlier Tales' game.Light Speed wrote:I got a question for all you people that played Tales of Symphonia. I was planning on buying it as soon as I finished Resident Evil 4. Anyway, I was looking at Gamestop the other day and saw Tales of Legendia. So I looked into it and found that it was part of a 'Tales' series that also included Tales of Destiny 1 and 2. All three are made by Namco, and so is Symphonia, but according to Gamespot, Symphonia isn't part of that universe. Also there's that Tales of Fantasia game. Can any of you confirm or deny the relation between all these games? It's not like it matters either way, since I only plan on playing Symphonia, but I'm kinda curious.
The majority of Final Fantasy games and Grandia games do not relate to each other storyline-based either.Light Speed wrote:I'm not terribly worried about it. I was just wondering why Namco would have a 'Tales' series, then name a game Tales of Symphonia and not have it be part of the universe. It sounds like the answer to that is, they didn't.
Namco did make a direct sequel to Tales of Destiny which is Tales of Destiny 2 which takes place serveral years after the original game. Namco Hometek unfortunately renamed Tales of Eternia, Tales of Destiny 2 when Eternia was released in the US years ago despite it not having any relation to Destiny.
Tales of Legendia is supposedly is a step back in battle system and dungeon design from Symphonia. The soundtrack however, is amazing. I consider it one of the best video game soundtracks I've heard this generation.
The most recent game in the franchise is Tales of the Abyss which was released in Japan and many people claim that it is the best of the series so far mainly because of the battle system.
This year is also the 10th Anniversary of the franchise.
