I pointed out Snatcher, which was what Psychonauts was a pseudo-sequel to. So there!

I think you mean Policenauts. The character Meryl actually first appeared in Policenauts.

Although Metal Gear Meryl is a different person than the one in Policenauts. I could go into detail but it'd be much easier to just direct you here.

I was just trying to point out that Kojima had nothing to do with Psychonauts.

There are some moments I really like (particularly the moving bridge scene, where I subconsciously performed an action because of what's happened throughout the game so far), but for the most part, Ico doesn't seem to have a profound impression on me.
I love you. Thanks for noticing that Ico is not a great game.

I shall not be visiting hell's firey depths, as I have played Psychonauts. Enjoyed it immensly and urge everyone I know to play it. They always seem interested but they're sure slow as hell about excercising thier purchasing power. Perhaps I should drop the "A trippy adventure with great gameplay and even better writing." in favor of "It's possible to burn things. With your mind." to catch thier attention.

Anywho, other games I've played:

Resident Evil 4

Not much I can say that hasn't been said. 'Tis sublime.

DK Jungle Beat

Totally awesome. It will own your life for about 1-2 weeks. Strangely enough, it reminded me of NiGHTS. Not that it has the same artistic value(though the graphics are wackily wondeful), but score crunching nature of it all felt kinda similar. Whatever the matter, check it out.

Oh, and playing it without the Bongos makes Baby Jesus cry.

Mario Kart DS

Great stuff. Lack of a co-op mode is slightly dissapointing(for me), but very well done nonetheless.

Kirby Canvas Curse

Proved the touch screen as a delicious form of control. Other games have too, but I played this first so...

Guitar Hero

The only flaw about this game is that it has a small MTV Games logo on it.

Astro Boy

A very solid action game with a few very cheap bosses(PLUTO).

Albatross 18

An enjoyable free online golf game. I'm sure it won't pull anyone away from the World of Warcrafts in the world, but I like it alot. Added plus: Hardly any trolls in the community.

We ♥ Katamari

Quite satisfying, but I don't think we need any more Katamaris. Maaaayyyybe an orginal DS game. Maybe.

Astal

Hunted this Saturn game down. Beautiful game, but very short.

Clockwork Knight

Haven't finshed it yet, but very enjoyable so far.

That's it for now I guess. Might add more, as there's plenty I've left out, but I'm tired and such.

I got a question for all you people that played Tales of Symphonia. I was planning on buying it as soon as I finished Resident Evil 4. Anyway, I was looking at Gamestop the other day and saw Tales of Legendia. So I looked into it and found that it was part of a 'Tales' series that also included Tales of Destiny 1 and 2. All three are made by Namco, and so is Symphonia, but according to Gamespot, Symphonia isn't part of that universe. Also there's that Tales of Fantasia game. Can any of you confirm or deny the relation between all these games? It's not like it matters either way, since I only plan on playing Symphonia, but I'm kinda curious.

Here's my list;

We Love Katamari - good sequel to good game. Though I'll agree with everyone else here that no more is necessary (even though I'll probably pick up a third title if it were to be on PS2 anyways).

Phantasy Star Online - played the original Dreamcast version. Fun, but that second dungeon boss is a pain.

Dance Dance Revolution Extreme 2 and Ultramix 3 - it's DDR. No comments necessary.

beatmania IIDX 7th style - first import game I ever recieved. Fun though difficult.

Star Ocean 'til the End of Time - I nearly broke my PS2 while playing it. Although it started off good, it became crap later on.

Tales of Sypmhonia - opposite of Star Ocean. Hated the first few hours, loved the rest of the game.

Sonic Gems Collection - finally got to play Sonic R and Sonic the Fighters. Sonic the Fighters wasn't worth it, but Sonic R is suprisingly decent. Nice to play Vectorman again, as well.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door - got this at the same times as Tales of Symphonia. I ended up playing Tales of Symphonia at least 4 times as much.

Knuckles Chaotix - first time in years I've played it, since I sold off my cartidge and have a Mac (which can't play 32X games for some reason on emulation). Good game as long as you don't have to jump to a specific platform.

Ratchet Deadlocked - is this series getting old? Yeah. Is it STILL fun to blow up stuff? Also yeah!

Tokimeki Memorial Puzzle Dama - Konami's Puzzle Dama series is the worst puzzle franchise ever. It's boring, it's cheap, and the CPU in its games are ruthless, and no amount of female eye candy will change that.

Dead or Alive Ultimate - this franchise's always been my guilty pleasure series. More customes and better graphics than ever sure do help.

The index finger makes a fine subsitute for button mashing.

Or if it is just that insanely hard, I don't really know, you can take a pen and rub it back and forth over the A button really fast. It worked for Starfox Adventures or some other game I played back during the first year of the GameCube.

Ah, but can it spin a joystick around 205 times and cause an inanimate object to levitate for 15 glorious seconds?

I agree the MGS torture wasn't all that hard. However, it's much more worthwhile to get the "bad" ending first. STEALTH SUIT!

Symphonia's the only one I've played but from what knowledge I can gather, I believe that some of its events link to Tales of Destiny (or maybe another one), but it's not exactly anything special, just a sort of easter egg for those that played the earlier Tales' game.

I think there's a actually a good bit more Tales games than you listed (including the Super Famicom Tales of Phantasia which is receiving a GBA port) as someone posted a list of them all at Game FAQs and there were probably more than 10. However many of them never left Japan and some may have not have had "Tales" in the name but were part of the franchise all the same.

This information comes from potentialy innacurate sources that I looked at a good while ago, so sorry if it's innaccurate.

I think that's pretty accurate, from what I've heard anyway.
I may be wrong though, any particular sources stick in mind?

I'm not terribly worried about it. I was just wondering why Namco would have a 'Tales' series, then name a game Tales of Symphonia and not have it be part of the universe. It sounds like the answer to that is, they didn't.

Have not tried it ... Snake just doesn't inspire that much solidness.

Ridiculously, I have not tried it on Easy mode, so thanks to Kishi.

Speaking of MGS torture sequence, does Occelot actually know if your using turbo/auto fire? Or is his claims akin to some random guy saying that we're getting Chinese Democracy this year?
