Life ain't equal
I got goosebumps today when I saw that my bookstore had gotten Monster vol. 1 in early and snatched it up immediately. Finally, after months and months of delays due to publishers squabbling over which cover to use, I can finally start collecting one of the most engrossing and suspenseful comics ever.
Has anyone here beside Del read it? If not, you should read it. All of you. That includes you, Gibbon!

While trying to figure out what you guys were talking about, I found an old EX.org article on the Japanese version.
Honestly, if the author has no confidence in his own material, how am I supposed to get excited about it?NAOKI URASAWA PRESENTS Horrible Story

<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monster_%2 ... kipedia actually has a good article on it. Just don't read too much, it outlines more than it probably should.

How many volumes is Monster?
Speaking of manga, I'm a big fan of Eyeshield 21 (even though only half a dozen volumes have been localized so far), which is so far the only manga I'm compelled to purchase ; but before that I want to see how long it can keep it's steam (the anime adaptation happens to suck, though). I also dig XXXHolic and Tsubasa so far, but considering CLAMP's manga series so far, it will probably start sucking 2/3 of the way into the series.
I'd probably be more compelled to get the One Piece manga, who's anime I still follow, but considering how Shounen Jump has handled the manga so far...
But anyway, I guess I'll check Monster out.

There has been no defacement of the One Piece manga thusfar, unless you're one of those prudes who actually cares about "Zoro" being spelt as "Zolo" for legal reasons.
I spit on Tsubasa, but xxxHolic is quite cool. However, Monster is infinitely superior to pretty much everything mentioned above. I mean, this isn't even the same league here.
Monster is eighteen volumes.

I'm such a prude.
But anyway, yeah, you're right, I said what I said without any real base (like I should've said VIZ instead of Shounen Jump), and the only things that I've found odd besides Zolo/Zoro was the whole Marines/Navy thing, which shouldn't even be a big deal, considering literal translations and all.
One Piece will probably be the first manga I collect anyway, that is if I ever decide to get my own bookshelf. I should find out at what rate the One Piece manga gets localized and published.
I also think it's funny how Nami's bust grew as the series went on; at least it was like that in the anime.
