Ecco was terrifying as a kid. I remember that part where that weird blobby thing with two limbs screams and comes chasing after you. Me and a friend just started yelling and swimming away as fast as possible. But it was hard, because it was in narrow passages.

Defender of the Future was also pretty scary.

Man, I love that series.

Sonic 3D Blast, Panic Puppet, Act 2.

Definitely would say that the blue dingo from Mega Bomberman on the Sega Genesis goes under this category. It had like, no abilities, and I'm pretty sure I was more likely to die while I was on it than when I wasnt.

In SSBM, in the event match where you're Peach and you have to beat giant Yoshi. As soon as the announcer said "GO!" Yoshi ran right off and died....Beat it in less than a second.

When I had my Sega Genesis , one of my favorite games was Primal Rage. Upon discovering this really cool cheat code (which opened a menu that had invincibility options, stage skip, all that), I immediatly used it. The weird part was, whenever I played as Diablo (the demon, fire breathing T.Rex thing), there would always be a human in the background with a huge devil mask on. He would run around like the rest of humans, just wearing this huge ass mask and spear.

For a minute, I freaked out and thought there was something wrong with my game. Then I was just thinking "Why the hell is that there?".

That reminds me of that Metal Gear Solid VR mission where you're up against two Genollas (<u>Geno</u>me Soldiers of God<u>zilla</u> proportions), but once they appear, they just sumo-grapple with each other until they both fall into the ocean and you automatically win.

The WTFuckest moment in video gaming I remember now (or at least, the most recent one) is the truth about the legendary treasure in Paper Mario TTYD. And I'm not talking about the plot twist, it's what you discover after beating the game and saving it.

My brother had a WTF-worthy demo of Cannon Fodder on his Amiga. First twist? It wasn't a demo as such, it was two new levels. Second twist? It was actually called Cannon Soccer, and one of the two levels required you to invade a Sensible Soccer match and waste all the players for no reason. It was utter genius.

Oh, yea, I remember one: The hand that stuck out of the toilet in Zelda: Majora's Mask. What's even more WTF is that the bathroom doesn't seem to have a door. It's just out in plain view like the innkeepers have some sort of sick fetish watching other people do their business.

I don't know why that guy was asking for something to wipe with when he apparently lived inside of the toilet. I'd have to think that wiping is an empty gesture at that point.

That dude's in Oracle of Ages too, although admittedly by that point his bathroom's got a door. Small victories.

When I got all 6 emeralds in Sonic for the first time and discovered how cool the secret ending is. Confusingly, I only did this a couple of months ago and I've had the game since I was 7. I just assumed I'd completed it ages ago, but I didn't remember the ending for shit.

My most memorable WTF moments are pretty much all based around the huge stack of pirate and/or Japanese games my brother bought back one day for our Saturn. It was a treasure trove of obscure and off-the-wall gamery, my personal favourite being Bokan to Ippatsu Doronbu Kanpekiban! Great stuff.

The same here on Sonic, I never knew about the true ending until a few months ago. So much for the first game I ever got.

Seeing my 5 year old cousin beat everyone barr me at tournament blew me back a bit too.

Wierd, I just found out about it a few months ago too. My Genesis is at my parents house though and I didn't feel like playing Sonic with a keyboard so I still haven't seen the ending.

WTF-Scary is when you are playing Ecco: Defender of the Future and you are swimming along in some cave and all of a sudden eels dart out at you from all directions.
