It's not the one from that old cartoon episode where Robotnik outlawed all music? It was a country music style one that roughly followed the Invincible tune from the first game...

"Saw-nic the Hedgehog,
He's so fast that you can't see..."

Here. The song is "They call me Sonic". It's not a theme song to anything I know of.

I believe that's the Right Said Fred song. Too sexy for his speedshoes.

You might have never seen that show because it never actually existed. That was promotional art for a cartoon that ended up vastly different.

Also the Sonic isn't from any of the cartoon shows. It used to be often accredited to one of the arcade games, but I don't think that's it's actual origin. Probably from a dedicated CD with no relation to any game in particular.

Caffee wins. It's from some sort of SUPER SONIC TECHNO MIX PARTY!!1 album; they were all the rage in the 90's, it seems.

I think it's creditted to the arcade games because the CD is called something like "Sonic Arcade".

Ah, it all seems clear now, I remember hearing about some sort of Sonic tune in the rave scene.
On a different note, does anyone remember the single of the Mario theme, the one where someone in a Mario suit danced around like a twat?

It wasn't just anybody in a Mario suit. No one else could ever achieve what Captain Lou Albano brought to that character.

I was rather disappointed that Mario's alias for the Glitz Pit in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door wasn't Captain Lou.

It's from that crappy German CD that had absolutely DICK to to with Sonic. Further horror will be induced by the track "Sonic Electronic", which never fails to make even the Marines cry.

If you really are such a masochistm mp3s can be obtained here (click on music at the top, then click the Sonic Arcade CD cover on the page it sends you to): http://www.sonicstrike.net/~sonicroms/

And like OMIGOSH, it has ROMs and stuff, so if you get those, delete them in 24 hours so SEGA doesn't take your life savings for something you could've obtained at Gamestop for $2.

EDIT: It's not Sonic Arcade, it's just called Sonic the Hedgehog, and since the damn frameset/no-link code won't let me link you, here's the CD cover to click on the Music page:
