Lest we forget
http://www5d.biglobe.ne.jp/~t-suzuki/vol.12/gma_00.htm
22 pages listing darn near every videogame-related anime ever made, with pictures. There's some stuff I had no idea existed, like a Ninja Gaiden anime and a Mario Bros anime circa 1986, and even a Gradius anime (actually it's Salamander, but same difference).
The site tends to fart on pages with alot of pictures, but refresh a couple of times and you should get the gist of it.

This reminds me that I have some Donkey Kong manga that I acquired from a trip to Japan a few years back. Volume 1 and 4 of "Uho Uho Donkiikun." Vol.1 covers parts of the original DKCountry, while Vol.4 introducing the Dixie/Kiddy team-up. They're children's comedies, and each chapter features a level from the games. I also used to have a volume each of Mario and Kirby, but I lost them somewhere...

Yeah, I noticed that, too, since Power Stone was one of the relatively few to ever make it to the States.Poison Eggroll wrote:Aw, it forgot Power Stone.
And <a href="http://norbert-x.com/rock/userfiles/Kis ... rightly</a> <a href="http://norbert-x.com/rock/userfiles/Kis ... gif">so</a>.The thought of a Twinbee anime perplexed and amused me.
Bizarre out-of-place giantess action aside, this really takes me back to when anime was actually animated instead of being comprised entirely of talking heads, close-ups, panning, and miscellaneous digital shortcuts.

Ya know, you could've just asked where I got it.Hey, this is pretty cool. And I finally know where Neo-Yi's (previous) avatar came from.
Any who, awesome find, although since I can't read a lick of japanese, there are some anime I can't guess which game it's based on. Others are easy enough to identified.

The last page promises that there's more to come, and mentions some additional series that aren't covered (such as the Lunar anime, Wild Arms, Arc the Lad, etc). It still doesn't mention Power Stone, though.
It also lists Donkey Kong. Was there ever a Donkey Kong anime, or are they referring to the Donkey Kong segments from the old American Saturday Supercade? Speaking of which:

I think that version of Frogger is infinitely cooler than the retarded "adventure" Frogger in the crap recent games.

Dunno about any animes, but there was that one cartoon on Fox Family, sometime around 1999. Just a load of 3D tripe.Green Gibbon! wrote:It also lists Donkey Kong. Was there ever a Donkey Kong anime, or are they referring to the Donkey Kong segments from the old American Saturday Supercade?

And two crappy songs in every episode.
And Dixie - without her hair and in a different outfit. Candy, with a bitchy feminist personality. Cranky with a magical coconut. K.Rool trying to be British. Diddy with no skills or usefulness. Donkey Kong with a surfer accent. And an effeminate mincing businessman Kong introduced for no good reason.
IT HURT!

I didn't care to find out, it was just a "oh, so that's where she got it from" kind of moment.Neo Yi wrote:Ya know, you could've just asked where I got it.
If it's the same one I'm thinking of, it was pretty ghastly. Mario characters all over the place, totally random japanese humor, and the artwork was batshit insane. It's probably what inspired Donkey Kong Jungle Beat.Senbei wrote:This reminds me that I have some Donkey Kong manga that I acquired from a trip to Japan a few years back.
