Oh no, lyrics in music! What an atrocity!

Point taken.
But this is Sonic. We--I don't play it to hear some cheesy singer ruining otherwise great music.

Look, I know the music is good. The lyrics suck.

Admit it.

Sometimes I ask myself "What am I doing here?"

I think of all the reasons, but it's still not clear. I look at places to go - there's nothing near.

In the sky at night, the stars are shining bright. You can see the city lights -- because I'm here to make it right.

Long as the voice inside tells me to run and to fight, it doesn't matter who is wrong and who is right.

Well, but when the lyrics can actually be turned Off that sin is rebuked.

The GREATER SIN WAS IN SA2...where the music had lyrics in some levels...EXPECIALLY Mr.Knuckles levels! WHAT A HEADACHE!

Its all because they decided to ditch the good Pop,Funk and Disco music and replace it with the overrated Rock and Metal bands plus toss rap in there too, Man How I hate my life.

Still...nothing sucks more than Heroes and Shadow the games that indicate the end is near.

Ya know, I never really had any problem with the rap music in SA2. It wasn't the best stuff in the game, but it sure as hell never bothered me.

Agreed. While some tunes in the US soundtrack are admittedly flat, there were a handful of decent tunes, many of which I felt were actually superior to their Japanese counterparts. And you gotta love Pastiche.

^A nice way to sum things up. Sonic tunes generally aren't big on atmosphere, which is probably why the average fan prefers the Jap soundtrack. But at it's core, you have to admit that it's quality stuff. Or at the very least, better than your average Sonic game's tunes.

Also, SA2's rap is the cat's pyjamas. pumpkin in da alley

Rap is a far greater contribution to society than you are.

Rap is not a contribution to anything. At least in R they let you turn the lyrics off. The music from Knuckles' levels would be better if you could do the same.

Not only were the lyrics cheesy in R (even if I'm alone on this, I'm not gonna change my mind), but the singer was a lousy singer. Admittedly, though, she was still better than the godawful rappers from SA2.

The only times that I can think of enjoying the lyrics and music from a Sonic tune are:

•Sonic CD Theme (both...but the American one is better than the Japanese one)
•City Escape; it was pretty good
•Shadow levels from SA2--the lyics were relatively inaudible, and sounded more like cool background effects

RAP DOESN'T SUCK YOU FUCKING DOUCHEBAGS SOME OF IT IS INTENSELY DEEP AND SOUL SEARCHING MUSIC.

However, this does not apply to any background music in Knuckles' levels.

I don't think anyone could possibly hate Knuckle's theme, or any of the other's characters themes as well.

You are allowed to hate Tails' theme though...

On a scale of 1 to Gay, Tails' themes usually rate in around 8 or 9.

So very true.

And on a scale of 1 to Awesome, Shadow's theme breaks the scale. As does Eggman's... (I am the EGGMAAAN, that's what I am, I am the EGGMAAAAN, I got the master plan...)
