You see that would make sense. In fact that’s the way I thought it would have played out... having to get all of the normal endings then moving onto a SA2 / Sonic Heroes style final ending.
Photographed you say? I'm a little unsure to trust random people on websites with no proof, especially Game FAQ's where he posts.

Nope, he isn't in there.
Anyway, yeah, the game isn't going to be great, but it'll at least be better than Heroes. And I actually enjoyed Heroes to a certain degree (That is, I played through it more than once), so I'll give this game a shot. The only thing that bothers me right now is that the game is far too short. Yeah, I know that there's more than one path through the game, but still, it's... Too short. At least, too short to squeeze a decent story in. From what I saw, either a great deal of the movie was edited, or the plot was even thinner than that of Sonic Heroes.
Lemme put it into perspective; we got about 5 seconds of dialogue between every level, and there were about 6 levels. Yeah. Well, I don't play Sonic games for the story. And besides, the plot looks like it sucks anyway. But we already knew it would, so it's not that big of a deal.

It's a sequel to Sonic Heroes. There's a few fixes, but not enough.
I still see bottomless pits in every level except the first. On the positive side, most levels had walls around the platform, so it was less likely that you'd fall in.
I still see every enemy taking 5 - 10 attacks to kill, unless you attack the weak point.
And bosses still take 50 - 100 attacks to kill, unelss you attack the weak point. At least there's only two of them.
Characters still say the same three sentences over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. SAY SOMETHING DIFFERENT OR SHUT UP!
Was there some sort of huge team change between Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Heroes that we're unaware of? The series completely changed its design after SA2.

damn. talk about being in the minority.DarkPrime wrote:Yes.Zaranth wrote:am i the only one here who likes Shadow?
i'll be happy if there are less rail grinding areas. not that rail grinding is hard; just that falling into the never ending abyss is annoying as hell (see Rail Canyon and Bullet Station in sonic heroes).
i would hope Shadow the Hedgehog has a better plot, considering story would be the biggest element in the game (Shadow is trying to find out about his past. there must be plenty of stuff in the past of a lifeform designed to be a perfect weapon). then again, we are basing this on a movie some dude videotaped. From what I saw, either a great deal of the movie was edited, or the plot was even thinner than that of Sonic Heroes.

It was certainly heavily edited. Not just the tedious bits where the player went from sucking at each level to managing them quite well, but they skipped an entire level and the cutscenes seemed far too incoherent to be entirely intact. I mean, if we're pretending that incoherency isn't the norm established by Heroes.

I was typing for speed, there are spelling mistakes and errors in grammar, deal with it because I’m not changing or fixing them.
Spoiler
If you don't want to wait 5hrs or longer to dowload the video, read the description here.
Shadow The Hedgehog. Play through – neutral mission part 1
Story: Shadow stands on the outskirts of Westopolis, and a park area. I news paper flutters by, catching on his leg momentarily we are able to see what it reads. The news paper reads ‘The Daily news. Fire in the Sky Festival, 54 return of the Black Comet.’ The paper then flutters away.
Shadow stands in the breeze, contemplating a past he vaguely recalls.
Shadow: ‘Shadow the Hedgehog… Why does that name haunt me? It’s the only thing I can remember. And that gruesome image.’
Shadow has a flashback to his time on ARK, Maria is fleeing for here life. Maria is being lead by Shadow through ARKs’ corridors, GUN peruse and open fire. Maria is hit and she goes down. Shadow calls out ‘Maria’, but it’s too late. The trauma of the memory reawakens him to reality
Shadow: ‘Who am I… And why can’t I remember anything? And who is this Maria?’
The sky turns red over West polis. Demons descend down from it.
Shadow: ‘Look how pathetic they are! I don’t have time for these humans.’
Dooms Eye arrives
Doom’s Eye: ‘Shadow…’
Dooms eye projects a hologram of the Black Arm leader from his eye. The leader then begins to speak to Shadow.
Black Arms leader: ‘As you can see the day of reckoning will soon be here. Find the seven Chaos Emeralds and bring them to me as promised.’
Shadow: ‘Huh? Who are you and how do you know I’m Shadow? And what are you talking about?’
Dooms Eye retracts the hologram and zips off, just as fire and explosions erupt around Shadow. Shadow reaches off in a futile attempt to recall Dooms Eye. An explosion erupts in front of him.
Shadow: ‘Just what the hell was that all about? If he says he knows the truth about who I am… then like it of not, I have to believe him. The only way I’m going to get the secrets to my past is to get those Chaos Emeralds!’
Shadows jets off toward Westopolis. The camera pans to reveal a red sky flashing with lightning.
Game: Westopolis: Westopolis is a little like Radical Highway. The level is a trek through the GUN blockade. Cannon Beams fire from what we can assume is the Black Arms fleet. A targeting light follows the main blast of the cannon, but even this is little warning for the coming blast.
Chaos aliens go down in 2 hits, Gun soldiers seem too take 1. Other enemies include the GUN hover drones.
There does seem to be multiple routes in the level, I noted 2 examples of the multiple route.
Shadow can collect a key in this level; its appearance is of the same design as the keys feature in Sonic Heroes.
The level features moving platforms, the likes of which were featured in Sonic Heroes.
A Chaos emerald is collected at the end of the level, its location is within a goal ring, also of the Sonic Heroes design.
Shadow The Hedgehog. Play through – neutral mission part 2
Story: Cut to a scene in the GUN headquarters. The camera pans to the office of, what we can assume is, the Genral in charge. There are a number of people within the office.
Gun operative 1: ‘The black aliens have hit six major cities around the world and every city is reporting significant damage and casualties. Among them, Westopolis has received the heaviest casualties due to its weekend defensive system.’
Cut to Westopolis. Shadow is walking with the green and pink emeralds in his hand. Just where it got the second emerald from is a mystery, but I imagine he kept the extra emerald with him so he could use his chaos powers.
The hologram of the Black Arms leader appears
Black Arms leader: ‘You deliberately disobeyed me, Shadow!
Shadow: ‘No one tells me what to do. I have my own reasons for collecting the Chaos Emeralds.’
Black Arms leader: ‘You REALLY don’t understand the situation here, do you!’
Shadow continues to walk past the hologram, ignoring it, and then he blacks out.
Shadow comes too at Glyphic Canyon, the chaos emeralds are no longer with him, standing up he rubs his weary head.
Shadow: ‘Wha… where am I?’
Shadow looks around, and then he walks toward an archway, the entrance to Glyphic Canyon.
The camera pans out over the vast canyon, it’s tangled maze of paths now visible, Shadow shocked grasps the seriousness of his situation and the Black Arms.
Shadow: ‘Whoa… I guess I underestimated his powers. Hmm… there’s something definitely going on out there. Now it’s up to me to find out what they’re up to!’
Game: Glyphic Canyon: Think of the loops of Radical Highway x2, which should give you some idea as to what Glyphic Canyon is like.
Shadows packing some alien ass kicking heat, and he’s out to enforce the day, although that could just be because he’s trying to avoid the red retard: Knuckles. Oh and Shadow can throw boxes, really big badass boxes with attitude, I only whish he’d throw them at Knuckles.
Glyphic Canyon is a level that requires a lot of faith; precaution will equal death, while carelessness will allow you to proceed. Like in Windy Valley Tornados whip Shadow up and ‘escort’ him to the next part of the course. The problem is the knowing, knowing when and where to make that leap into the tornado, how far you jump, the speed at which you travel and so forth. You’ll have to be alert in Glyphic Canyon, Snake-like aliens emerge from the ground in a bid to surprise Shadow, rubbles tries, most of the time in vain, to smack ‘upside’ his head. This is really a let down for the level, as one again it hinders Shadows speed forcing him to stop and evade. In some areas Shadow must despatch and enemy in order to unlock the path ahead, again like Sonic Heroes, and again it can slow the level down.
If I hade to estimate I’d say the snake creatures took six hit to bring the down.
At the end of the level Shadow is awarded the blue Chaos Emerald.
Shadow The Hedgehog. Play through – neutral mission part 3
Story: Cut to the white house. The President is on the telephone, he has it on speakerphone, and he’s participating in a conversation with an unknown person.
Unknown person: ‘Mr. President. I’ve received a report from the Central Information Agency.’
Cut to Prison Island. Shadow emerges in a flash of green light. He has used to blue emerald to initiate Chaos Control and teleport to the island. The island appears abandoned and overgrown.
Shadow: ‘Hmm… I wonder if there are any Chaos Emeralds around here.’
Shadow briefly surveys the area, and then when he beings to move he is greeted by another flashback. The image of the chamber in which he was held, and then awaked from by Dr Eggman, appears in his mind. Shadow rubs his head only to be greeted by another vision of the chamber.
Shadow: ‘Whaa… !? That’s right, I somehow escaped but was then captured by those humans. But from where?’
Shadow looks around in order to ascertain as too where ‘where’ is.
Shadow: ‘And why?’
Shadow looks toward the entrance of the facility.
Game: Prison Island: In this level Shadow’s immediately greeted by Charmey, to be honest I’d rather Knuckles accompany me in the dank sewer, but then again Charmey might be better suited to riding flumes of toxic sludge on a spinning wheel with rotor-blades. Oh you crazy Japanese with your surreal game play; only they can relate such an example to their everyday life.
The killer orchids are a nice touch, personally I prefer the Perennials but then that’s a matter of taste now isn’t it.
Race to the end of the level to grab the ‘I don’t know what’ coloured emerald.
Shadow The Hedgehog. Play through – neutral mission part 4
Story: Cut to Dr Eggmans’ base. He is leaning over a computer console surrounded by Egg Prawns. Above the console there is a holographic projection of all the damage bought upon by the Black Arms. In the image a large ogre alien has pick up a car. The Gun army open fire. The image briefly turns to the Black Arms general before quickly turning its attention back to the ogre and the car, which has now been flung into the air. Eggman stands up quickly, backing away from the console in outrage.
Dr Eggman: ‘How can I take over the city and build the Eggman Empire if there is no city?!.’
Eggman throws his hand around erratically.
Eggman: ‘I’m at my limit! I have no choice!’
Eggman slams his fists on the console.
Eggman: ‘Send in the Eggman Fleet. CHARGE!’
Eggman turns and points, all the Egg Prawns scramble in the direction he’s pointing.
Cut to shadow talking to the leader of Blacks Arms. The leader of the Black Arms flees.
Blacks Arms leader: ‘Shadow… do not fail me!’
Shadow scoots of to battle Eggmans fleet.
Level: Sky Troops: Shadow enters another war zone, only this time it’s fought between Black Arm and the Eggman Empire. It’s actually quite comforting to see the little Egg Prawns scurrying about amidst and unfamiliar enemy, almost enough so that you wish you were fighting alongside Eggmans’ army.
This time a hovering TV accompanies Shadow, with Eggmans’ image projected inside.
Work you way through the level, using your homing attack on flying enemy’s to bridge the voids and pits.
Toward the end of the level Shadow takes to the skies onboard the alien dragon, arriving at the levels goal ring and beneath an Egg-Carrier. There is no emerald within the ring.
Shadow The Hedgehog. Play through – neutral mission part 5
Story: Shadow uses Chaos control to gain access into Eggmans Egg-Carrier. When on the inside Shadow Stumbles to his feet, shocked at what he sees before him: a collection of Shadow robots.
Shadow: ‘What the... ?!’
Shadow quickly back flips away from the robots landing in a fighting stance.
Shadow: ‘How can this be? Who the hell are you?’
The camera pans to reveal 13 Shadow robot clones standing before him. Eggman, in his Egg-O-Matic fly’s overhead.
Eggman: ‘Meet Shadow Android. The Eggman fleet is strong but those black creatures are a formidable adversary! I must return to base to devise a new plan’
Eggman fly’s away, leaving Shadow standing with the androids.
Shadow speaks, but at this point there is no text translation.
Game: Metal Jungle: The levels grinding is more in keeping with that of the Final Rush level from SA2.
The Egg Prawns take 2 hits to defeat, and a smaller version if the ‘Bigfoot’ boss featured in SA2 makes an appearance as a regular enemy.
There are more moving platform sections, but usually you have the option to bridge the gap with a ring dash, or by bouncing off the flying drones.
There are platforms that more vertically as well, and as a rather helpful feature Sonic Team have designed it so that Shadow always looks in the direction from which the platform is descending or ascending.
Again this level has multiple paths.
Later in the level there is a confrontation between Shadow and The Shadow androids, it seems Eggman finally got pissed enough to unleash them. There are three you battle, and they take 6 hits to defeat.
Boss: Shadow and Omega make it to the end of the level and face a boss similar in appearance to the Egg Emperor. The boss is piloted by Eggman; it is surrounded by Egg Prawns and Shadow androids, and shots laser from its eyes. Oh, and if you think that makes it untouchable, well it also stands on a raised platform.
Shadow can attack by using the rocket surrounding the arena to gain altitude, then opening fire on the boss while parachuting down.
After enough hits the boss leaves the podium and roams the arena firing its lasers
Chaos control used in the arena appears to slow time.
Shadow The Hedgehog. Play through – neutral mission part 6
Story: Shadow’s still standing in the arena.
Shadow: ‘Hmmmm..’
Shadow has a flash back to the stasis pod where Rouge found him during Sonic Heroes. Then he remembers all the stasis pods that were aboard the Egg Fleet. Now his visions change to his time as Super Shadow after saving ARK. He reaches up toward ARK, and then the colony explodes.
Shadow: ‘The pieces are coming together. The ultimate life form they keep referring to as the black hedgehog and he… died!’
Game: Lava Shelter: The level involves a lot of grinding over hot lava, and you can ride on the lava using the spinning top platform with propellers that were feature first in the Prison Island level. Sometime enemies wait on the rails (Sonic Heroes)
Some Egg Prawns ride spike balls in this level, beware! Send in the clones, they’re here too!
I have also seen examples of multiple paths in this level.
The level shoes the first example of the giant fans (featured in Sonic Heroes and Sonic Adventure) which propel Shadow to higher levels.
When Shadow reaches the goal ring he collects another Chaos Emerald.
Story: Still in Eggmans base.
Eggman appears in his spider boss contraption.
Eggman: ‘Nice to see you Shadow android and you too, Omega. It certainly looks as if you’ve… well, done quite a bit of damage down there.’
Boss: The boss is fought on a hexagonal ring with a platform in the centre. Shadow and Omega are free to roam around the ring or central platform, so too is Eggman.
Eggman starts by launching two of three rockets into the air. He speeds around the arena, and then when his machine collapses you can attack three red sensors at the front of the machine
Shadow gains a red Chaos Emerald
Shadow The Hedgehog. Play through – neutral mission part 7
Story: Shadow and Omega Stand before the fallen Eggman. The seven Chaos Emeralds begin to glow; they begin to orbit Shadow, who in turn outstretches his arms in triumph.
Shadow speaks to Eggman, but no text is visible.
Eggman looks shocked.
END
