Rude Dog and the Dweebs

Anybody here old enough to remember this short-lived pop culture fizz from the '80s? It was basically a line of sportswear and then a cartoon series on CBS.

Here's the opening credits theme song. Just listening to that chorus takes me back to 1989 quicker than you can say "pink Cadillac".

I think this one of the most random topics of the most obscure things in the history of the GHZ.

I haven't seen Rude Dog and the Dweebs in ages(and I thought I was the only one who remembered it) but I remembered I thought of the dogs' designs of the Dweebs being very ugly.

I remember that. I used to think it was a beer commercial, due to the stylized resemblance of the main character to Spuds McKenzie or whatever his name was.

It was obvious that Liquid Snake was a Ninja Turtle, and if you listen carefully you can tell that Vamp is Phil LaMarr, but I never would have guessed that Gray Fox was voiced by the same guy who did P.J. Pete and Yakko Warner.

Indeed it would. In fact, I'd love to see that happen. Especially since with a character like Big, there's no way in hell that Sega would ever expect you to take the game seriously. Really, think of how much easier this Shadow game would be to swallow if it were all just one big joke. I mean, it IS a joke as it is, but when you don't have to go through the "Haha! ...Wait, you guys aren't kidding?" phase, people would be a lot more optimistic about it. Considering that almost all of the elements used (Pint-sized anthromorphic gun-toters, action flick ripoffs, etc.) are generally found in games with a heavy emphasis on humor, when such elements are used in a game with such a serious atmosphere, it's pretty hard to look at Sonic Team and not think "What have you been smoking?" So yeah, if Big was the star of Shadow The Hedgehog, it totally would have worked. As far as I'm concerned, anyway. Hell, it worked for Conker.

Y'know, he only did the Ninja in Twin Snakes; in the original it was some other guy. I think he played the DARPA Chief, too.

Yeah, Greg Eagles (alias George Byrd). He's great at voicing grizzled old black dudes, but Paulsen did a much better job with Fox. He sounded more tortured and ghostly, not to mention the fact that you didn't have to try to ignore how Fox sounded just like the DARPA Chief.
