If Nomura were to re-do some of Yoshitaka Amano's character designs, I get the feeling he'd replace the swirliness and artsy-fartsy-ness with extra belt buckles and jewelry. And every girl would look like Rinoa with a haircut. Like Yuna did. Or how Tifa looks in Advent Children.

Not that I'm complaining. All 3 of them are hot.

I'm not complaining, really. I'm a huge fan of Nomura's artwork and am very inspired by him and his unique clothing style. The only artwork I really didn't enjoy was the outfit designs in FFX with about 98% of them looking pretty damn fugly.
Oh, and I should mention that OPM is going to have a playable of Shadow of the Colossus in their next issue. They're also going to review and do a cover story on it, so that should make the issue mandatory reading for everyone here. OPM is getting pretty cool... They also did a cover story on Ico back in the day, and they were one of the few "mainstream" print magazines to give Ico a lot of coverage. I'm not sure if I actually want to play a SotC demo... that kinda preview is like masturbating a few minutes before you get laid.
Yea, I'm getting it, not just because I get a demo of Wanda, it's because OPM is the magazine I get the most after EGM (the latter I will buy every month it comes out).

Why are you so damn hung up on Vivi? He's a generic black mage. Appearance-wise, he's replacable, and if he was in the game at all, it'd probably be just a two-line bit.

No, a generic Black Mage has a witch hat that comes to a point, whereas Vivi's hat is so tall that it flops over in half. Completely different.

Have you actually played FF9?
...............I'm gonna answer your question anyways, if not just to annoy you...........because I can.

Why I like Vivi, a list by Neo Yi:
1.) He's DAMN adorable. One look at him and I just squeal in stupidly giddy fangirl delight.
2.) I'm usually the type to hate friggin' angst crap, and while Vivi is filled with it, he has a certain something most angst ridden FF characters don't have: a sense of innocent and purity. He's very sweet and doesn't act like a jerk or even get anti-social (which I'm sick and tired of seeing). He tries to do his best and actually cares about others.
He's a very kind guy who doesn't look like he's gonna listen to Linkin Park and any other emo crap. Hell, he's talk of life and death is pretty much a given considering what he is and how he came to be. To me, he was one of the first of his kind in terms of personality.
3.) For goodness sake, I spent merchandises of that guy, doll, action figure, giant ass cloth poster, whatever.
4.) He kicks ass in battle, except his Doomsday spell. Why didn't Squenix just give him Ultima? Shame...

1. You're abusing the poor period key.
2. Yes, I have played FFIX. And he's a clone! How much more generic do you get? There's a whole village of people like him!
3. He is quite replacable, and most people who use magic in KH2 can replace him.

Vivi has no face. How can he eat, speak, or make love?

You don't need a face to make love. Though sometimes it might help.

I thought the entire point of Vivi's character was the struggle with being just like everyone else and how he was actually something of an individual after all, and how that vaguely parallels Zidane's creepy discoveries about his own past? Or did the game not actually go there and I just made it up because it sounded good?

Eh, pretty much.

Oh, and Baba...He may be a clone, but he's important in that he was the FIRST clone. The prototype. Without him, Kuja probably wouldn't have made the other black mages. Vivi was first, then the others poured out.
He is quite replacable, and most people who use magic in KH2 can replace him.
I'm aware his role in KH2 if he would appear would be miminal, but does that matter to me? No. It'll just be nice to see him there, that's all. I don't see how his black magic will be "replaced" in the same way Cloud or Squall's sword fighting skills don't feel "replaced" by Sora's keyblade, considering both would fit under warrior or something like that.

Seriously, do you really have a problem with me liking Vivi? What's so wrong with it? I'm entitled to like what I like, like Del said.

Now, see, the problem with that is, Caffee's funny. Usually unintentionally.

It's more or less a teaser for Kingdom Hearts 2. It (somewhat) introduces the villians in the next game, and Twilight Town is the new Traverse Town in KH2, but otherwise, Chain of Memories is just a bunch of random shit Square threw together to make more money. I'm never going to finish that game, and I'm on the second to last dungeon.

Did you know Jupiter, the people who developed the game, also developed Sonic Pinball Party and Pokemon Pinball?

Wow, I think I'm the only person in the universe that liked CotM.

But yeah, most of CotM plays out like a filler episode for an anime-- Nothing really important happens, and most of the new characters that are introduced end up getting killed. It does introduce Axel and Namine, who are important in KH2. And uh... they survive CotM, obviously.

The only thing you'll be missing is some foreshadowing, but I still think CotM is worth playing-- Its probably one of the best GBA games, and one of the few GBA games that isn't retardedly easy.

It's Chain of Memories. CoM. Stop getting my hopes up that you started a Castlevania discussion.

Circle of the Moon was awesome, but lately I've been partial to Aria of Sorrow.
I think Harmony of Dissonance was a mess, though.

I never finished Circle of the Moon. Still beating myself up over that one.

As for CoM, I'm skipping it unless I see it second hand for under NZ$25 (considering NZ$1 roughly = US$0.50).

Is there anything gameplay wise that is good or sucky, other then the fact that you said it ain't so easy? I don't have a GBA, but I have a GBA player and I'm wondering if this game will be truly worth my time.
