My Sonic/Sonic Team collection: The Horrer!
At the beggining of last summer, after I had bought my Dreamcast, I had a great deal of nostalgia for the Sonic games I played in my early childhood. Quite coincidentally, it was around that same time that Electronic Gaming Monthly had put the URL for this site in one of it's issues. When I gazed at all the information this site contained, I made some kind of pact that I would have to own every single Sonic/Sonic Team game, released domestically or not. That right there should have been a great sign that I had finally lost my grip on reality.
Fast-forward to approximately one year later, and I have spent a great deal of time, money, and especially frustration, going to great lengths to obtain whichever ones I could find. Since my collection has spent most of it's time un-played (after having my Genesis and Sega CD broken, as well as selling my GameGear), I figured I might as well post my collection here, as it has done little else besides sitting there. I will say this though: The Sega 32X has got to be the shittiest piece of hardware I've ever come across. The day I find one that works is the day Jesus and Satan build snowforts in the underworld. Oh, and Sonic Team is slowly but surely flushing themselves further down the proverbial toilet with each game they release (post-Burning Rangers, of course).
It must also be noted that all of these are complete, box and manual, yadda, yadda, yadda:
Sonic
Sonic the Hedgehog (Genesis)
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Genesis)
Sonic CD (Sega CD)
Sonic the Hedgehog (GameGear)
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (GameGear)
Sonic the Hedgehog: Triple Trouble (GameGear)
Sonic Labyrinth (GameGear)
Sonic Blast (GameGear)
Tails' Adventures (Japanese Version) (GameGear)
Sonic Jam (Saturn)
Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure (Neo Geo Pocket Color)
Sonic Adventure (Dreamcast)
Sonic Shuffle (Dreamcast)
Sonic Adventure DX (GameCube)
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle (GameCube)
Sonic Mega Collection (GameCube)
Sonic Heroes (GameCube)
Sonic Advance 2 (GameBoy Advance)
Sonic Pinball Party (GameBoy Advance)
Sonic Battle (GameBoy Advance)
Other Sonic Team
Nights Into Dreams (Saturn)
Chu Chu Rocket (Dreamcast)
Samba de Amigo (Dreamcast)
Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II (GameCube)
Phantasy Star Online Episode III C.A.R.D. Revolution (GameCube)
Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg (GameCube)
So there it is. Filled with some great, some OK, and some god-awful games. Not bad for being mostly unemployed. I might post some pics later, but my digital camera is pretty shitty, so be warned.

A collection topic? Well, there's always one eventually.
As far as your comments go, I would have to argue that Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 were at least mediocre, though I prefer the first quite a bit to the second in all areas save graphics and music. Sonic Advance 1, along the same lines, was quite a bit more fun and quite a bit less frustrating than its sequel.
Did you like Nights, though? I'd definitely suggest picking up Christmas Nights. Just don't pay too much for it... I've seen the bloody thing go for over $50 on eBay.

I would say the road to doom didn't start until post-PSO. Everything up until Sonic Adventure 2 was still excellent. I actually remember when Sonic Adventure 2 was just announced, I was the first person to start saying: "I dunno guys, I think it's too early for a sequel" and everyone, even Popcorn, was all like: "You worry too much, it's gonna be awesome". And I eventually conceded all like: "Yeah, I guess so... it is Sonic Team, they haven't made a bad game yet."Oh, and Sonic Team is slowly but surely flushing themselves further down the proverbial toilet with each game they release (post-Burning Rangers, of course).
And of course they haven't made a good game since.
Now that I think about it, do you think I was the one who jinxed it?

Only joking, of course. I dunno, I just remeber playing SA 1 & 2 and not being able to really enjoy them because of all the bugs and stuff. And I didn't mean they went down all that far immediately. I actually really enjoyed Chu Chu Rocket, and I found Billy Hatcher to be quite fun as well. I also really liked Sonic Pinball Party. When I first started playing PSO, I was enthralled, but the excitement soon gave way to boredom, and this past week I ended selling my Broadband Adapter as well as my Keyboard/Controller Hybrid. PSO Episode III, however, I still have hope for, as it seems to be a lot more enjoyabe offline than I & II are.
I dunno, I just get that feeling that they've lost their touch and Naka and his crew have turned to whoring out their "Cash Hedgehog" without a moments hesitation. It's just really depressing-- I still haven't gotten around to finishing Sonic Heroes because of the crappy/frustrating as hell bonus stages.
Oh well, at least I have NiGHTS.
On a side note, Rlan's collection just totally shat all over mine.

I still haven't played Ep 3. It might be cool, but I don't think I'll ever be able to figure it out enough to enjoy it. At one time I thought I would've enjoyed card games and at one time I may have, but if I ever possessed the ability, I certainly lost it. You're supposed to gain patience with age, but I only seem to be losing it.
Yeah, I'm not even going to attempt mine after that. I thought I was cool because I owned a Japanese copy of Christmas NiGHTS.On a side note, Rlan's collection just totally shat all over mine.

I'm tempted to try Ep. 3 just because I played the living fuck out of the Xbox version of 1 & 2, but it wasn't released for Xbox and I don't really want to play it offline for GameCube. Oh and I loathe turnbased battles.
Anyway, I got sucked into FFXI now so no other games for while. I really hate MMORPGs, I swear I'll never play another once I get sick of this one. Worse than crack.

Hey Light, I don't suppose there's any chance at all you ended up on the Phoenix server, huh?
Also, I am definitely going to be playing True Fantasy Live, and I want everyone here to play it, too. We can all start right at the beginning like PSO and it'll be the first game since then that we're all playing together. Silv, you have to play it, too.

My Xbox is still that modded one that won't let me go on Live. I probably won't be joining.
My Sonic Team collection isn't that great, but my top item is a real copy of the Sonic CD remix album from Japan. I'm under the impression it's rare as all hell. I've never seen one on ebay so I can only assume that it's worth about 7 bajillion dollars.

There was once a site where you could download high quality MP3s of the tracks, but unfortunately the site is long gone now.
As for my collection, it's pitiful so I won't bother posting it.

Considering how impressive Rlans collection is, it made me quite proud to own a game or two he’s (or she’s?) missing.
Tails skyPatrol (gameGear jap)
Sonic Jam (game.com)
Sadly their both appalling games. Still!
List at: http://users.ign.com/collection/Smileys
And a Pic (just in-case anybody cares.)

Same game dude. You just paid for a sticker for a tips line that was really shithouse. I even rang them once to get the password for the last level of Marko's Magic Football and the dumb arse only gave the pass code for the second last level. Thankfully, they died long ago, and now there's no Sega prescence here except for the cone and cube remains of Sega World. That place rocked, but just like their games, they couldn't market the place for shit.Sonic 1 [PAL]
Sonic 1 [AUS - Has a different sticker for a hot tips line]
Impressive collection though. The only thing I have that you don't is an Asian Version of Sonic 2 on the Mega Drive which I grabbed for 5 bucks. It's an asian version, but the manual is in english, go figure.
You sure, cause I have a copy of Bare Knuckle 3, and it's quite a good pirate. Easy way to tell, is if the Sega logo is embossed on the back.Sonic 2 [JPN2 - Has a pirate box art, but cart is real]

It was Murakumo, the biggest mistake of my life. As if to add insult to an already shitty game they eventually did finally release it in the US for $20, which is still too much. I also imported Orta a month or so before the US release, with the bonus CD included.Just what the hell do you play on a modded Xbox, anyway? Bistro Cupid?
Yeah that's the one.You mean this, right?
