Fox is really promoting American Dad, though. I think sometimes it's moreso than Family Guy.

It's funny how I like the season four episodes of Family Guy better than the first season of American Dad. Sad, really.

So far, I've liked American Dad better than the new Family Guys.

Hey, I think Tsuyoshi-kun should be the new Anime God.

Family Guy is better than American Dad IMO. And I just started to watch Stand Alone Complex. It's pretty cool.

Yeah, but he's the one who USED it.

Oh yeah, Gibs, it may interest you to know that Mamoru Oshii wrote the scenario for season two of Stand Alone Complex.

That, Pep, is a festival of awesome.

Oh, and I finally figured out that the music for "s-CRY-ed" is direly mediocre; the power of the saxophones has worn off. Similarly, I also realized that the "Detective Conan" music is similarly uninspired... damn saxophones, controlling my mind.

Oh, and Minnie, I think "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Second Gig" begins in late Fall, maybe early Winter... about a year after the first season premires. I just wonder how Motoko's lady friend(s) will react to seeing her/their girlfriend alive and well... You know it's gonna happen. Dead girls need love too.

What? So I restarted a thread from nearly a month ago. It's my thread. Bite me.

Detective Conan's music rocks as much as every other aspect of the show. Which is immensely.

Okay, maybe the music is pretty damn spiffy... but then, I've only had access to the highly dubious FUNimation dub of the show, so maybe the program is better as a whole in Japanese. You know, the pony is being deeply hidden, what with the coolness of the music and Gosho Aoyama's designs countered by the "meh"-ness of the broadcasts on Cartoon Network (just why did they change just about all of the names and the theme song, why?).

All the subtitles in the world probably can't make the Junior Detective League, or whatever the Hell they're called in the original version, any less iritating... unless I underestimate the lameness of the dub.

Oh, and has anyone read the "D.C." manga? I know Viz uses the "Case Closed" title, but did they also carry over the new names, too?

Perhaps not to confuse the feeble minded viewers of the show?

The strange thing about the name changes is that they're really inconsistent. For example, the name of the protagonist, Shinichi Kudo, was changed to Jimmy Kudo. Why change Shinichi but not Kudo? It's not like they tried to make it a secret that the show takes place in Japan, either, making things even more bizarre. Imagine a character reading the nameplate outside a house; the name on the plate, of course, is written in kanji, yet the character says, "Charles Peterson."

It's really great.

TMS, the animation studio that originally produced Conan, forced FUNimation to change the character names and logo, feeling that they would make the show more mainstream friendly. Obviously they thought that a murder mystery show would be an easy sell to a family audience. Heh.

Also, I think the dub theme is better than the original.

I can't tell because each episode they cut away from it at a different point.

Well, between that and the edits inflicted to "Lupin III" for Pioneer/Geneon, I'm really getting infuriated with those twits. The Clark Bar gag in "Mamo" was priceless. Unlicenced and arguably illegal, but priceless. Damn them.

And I haven't heard either version of the theme. What're the differences?
