I had to make a website for some wild cat foundation once, so I've learned more than I wanted to about wild cats. It's more common than you may think to have a wild cat/domestic cat mix. When he gets older, try not to "challenge" him. He may revert back to his natural instincts. This site has some good information and pictures of hybrids. Check it out.
My house is on about 3 acres of land, bordered on one side by woods. Bobcats come up to the edge sometimes. Those things are freaking big. They've been known to kill deer.

I once had a puppy named Bomi, but kept him for roughly 6 to 8 months because we had to eventually move (so we gave Bomi away to one of my father's friend who already has 4 other dogs, so I knew Bomi would be in good hands). I can't get another dog since both my parents are friggin' allergic to them (my dad also said he doesn't like smelly animals in the house). I'm so unhappy until the day I move out and get one of my own. I still think of Bomi from time to time...

Sorry, dude. I know how it feels. 2 of my dogs died in 2002. One (Katie, a black Lab/Golden Retriever mix) had to be put down due to a tumor in her urinal tract that prevented her from urinating. She was 14 and too old to undergo the operation.
The other, Calie, a Carrin Terrier died in her sleep of natural causes. She was also 14.
Some people can't understand how you can get so attached to an animal. They become like a member of your family.
You'll always have the memories. I'm sure she was glad to be in a family that loved her.
