Well, Gamefaqs is doing something alike, only with extra 29 contestants and prizes for those who make good choices.

Why is he so popular anyway? (besides his good looks and the big-ass sword) I mean, yeah, he killed Aeris and tried to dominate the world or whatever. Any videogame villain can kill an important character and try the world domination thing.

I always theorized FF7 was the main reason he's one of the most well known...ahem..."villain"s of all time. After all, the game can't go anywhere without people identifying it from 2 inches away. So...maybe it's a popularity thing...and the gobs of fangirls who's into girl men.
