Don't like anime?

Post by animesux »

This may be a bit obsessive, but does anyone here like the old Sonic but doesn't like Anime? Or, at least if you like anime, if you hate the "new" Sonic? :?:

I don't see the connection. Both the old Sonic style and the new one have had anime based on them, and apparently Ohshima favored Sonic's world being anime-ish from the start.

hmmm. You are correct there, I guess. But, I think what I mean to say is, I don't like the... well... behavior of anime. Y'know, with the googly white things in the eyes and the over-emotional characters. I dunno. I'm just not into that sorta thing, and I don't see any of those traits in Sonic. There's gotta be a reason I like Sonic but not anime, right?

I don't really care for anime, but I don't despise it either.

Cool. That's kinda' where I'm at. I just don't like it when something I was really into turns into it (Sonic X or Sonic Adventure with those stupid Choas). Other than that I could care less if every thing else in the world had to do with anime. It's dumb, I know, to get that upset over something so miniscule, but to me it means alot because to me Sonic is pure nostalgia.

I would argue that Sonic has been moving AWAY from anime. At least in the games and their accompanying artwork. He's looking much more western in style than he ever has before.

Hey, I said it was obsessive, but don't act like YOU don't have something that you really like and would be upset if it changed. Everybody's got something.

No, I mean literally think about the phrase "could care less" word for word, and once you have done so explain what it means.

Although he meant to say he couldn't care less, in this case I think it was technically correct (albeit by accident), because he obviously cares. Look at his screenname for Christ's sake.

Oh yes. Well then, penguin, you seem to have spotted a simple grammatical error. Give yourself a pat on the back. Sheesh, and I though I made a big deal about little things.

Now that I think of it, "animesux" is a tad bit to involved, don't you think? Very well then. I shall change my screen name for the best.

What is the route from "tad" to "involved"? I am unfamiliar, perhaps it is on another planet?

The problem with anime is that it is made by Japanese people who are all racist bitches with small dicks that throw their lives away by drinking well into the night with their business associates. Also the cartoon medium makes it impossible for any intellectual content to be produced. Good anime? Sounds about as likely as "comic art."

If I cared at all, I might be tempted to argue with you.

What in your opinion would be necessary in a work of art for it to be deemed to have intellectual content, and why so?
