I have a chance of attending E3 this year.
My friend (Nick) just called me up and said that his uncle was going to be working at E3 this year. His uncle told him that if he could get his hands on some passes and Nick was able to go, he'd get him a couple.
Now, I'm not sure if it's even possible for his uncle to get them. I don't know the Ins and Outs. However, if he does get his hands on them, I will be attending E3.
The first beautiful thing is that since it's our Senior year, school will pretty much be over by May 18th. This will make it possible for us to take 3 days off of school without missing out on anything. The other beautiful thing is that LA is only about a 2 hour drive away from where we live.
I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high in case of dissapointment, but it's impossible not to be a little excited at the prospect. Going to E3 has been a dream of mine since I was 10 years old, and even if it's declined over the past years, it's still E-fucking-3.
So yeah, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.

I might be able to go as well, though my chances are... err, about 30%-ish. My brother goes to some computer-animation school and the school there always sets up some e3 package for their students so they can go, and they hand out e3 badges like candy. He said he might be able to con his way into getting me in.
Either way, he'll come back with loads of free stuff for me.

You need to either work "in the industry", which is a much looser requirement than you'd think, or give blowjobs to people with the hook-up. It takes no great effort. The main difficulty, at least in my case, is money to afford the trip. Even though the show itself is free (depending on which package you take), a three day excursion to downtown Los Angeles is not cheap. Particularly not with a major convention in town.

Yeah, luckily our AP tests are in the first week of May, and Finals Week is probably going to be the week after E3. The only thing E3 would be interrupting is review, and there's no way I'm gonna let review get in the way of free swag, booth babes, and most importantly, videogames.Light Speed wrote:I never could go in highschool cause AP tests were always right during E3, but now finals finish like 2 weeks before that.

I'm going to Anime Expo too! It's like twenty-minutes away from where I live.Delphine wrote:I'm going to Anime Expo. That's not nearly as important to you people, but I'm going, damnit.
We'll have sex on the expo floor.
Bwahaha, good thing LA is like an hour away from here.Green Gibbon! wrote:Even though the show itself is free (depending on which package you take), a three day excursion to downtown Los Angeles is not cheap. Particularly not with a major convention in town.
Though now my chances at getting an E3 I.D. thingie are beginning to look slim. Oh well. ...I won't be missing much this year, right?

Besides the unveiling of Nintendo's Revolution and playable PS3s, I don't imagine you'd be missing out on much besides free swag. And it sounds like you've already got that covered.Squirrelknight wrote: Though now my chances at getting an E3 I.D. thingie are beginning to look slim. Is that the one in Boston? My friend's trying to drag me to that, but I made him promise me that he'll go to Hot Import Night with me in return. Looks like I'm winning!Delphine wrote:I'm going to Anime Expo. That's not nearly as important to you people, but I'm going, damnit.
EDIT: If that doesn't work, I'll just lose him on the T. I know the ins and outs of that system like the back of my hand, but he doesn't!
Also, I think that I screwed up what I'm trying to say somewhere. Decipher this post if you can...
