The Office rounds out my top 3 favorite TV shows of all time (the other 2 being South Park and Monty Python's Flying Circus, respectively). I can't say enough good things about it. I have the First and Second Series DVDs, and while I don't own it, I've seen the Special and I believe that there was no way Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant could've handled it any better. It was the perfect ending, in my eyes.
The only thing I don't like about being so enthralled with The Office is that none of my friends have seen it so they can't understand why I rant and rave about it.

God, could you faggots quoting the Office stop it? It isn't "genius" (and neither is Gervais, for that matter), just very funny. Quoting it ad nausem and doing THAT FUCKING DANCE just makes it even worse.

I only quoted it once, shitstains. What the fuck does it matter if I think it's "genius" or not? It makes me laugh, a lot.
But I'll stop if you hurry up with that next Sonic CD installment.

Chill the fuck out. It's not like they're quoting Napolean fucking Dynamite.

Hey, don't mess with someone who knows illegal ninja moves from the government.

Now THAT I'm intereseted in, imagine his hair , imagine all the fine birds aswell. Cooool.
Thinking about it, I remember when one episode ripped Pokemon. The fad was called Clam Warriors and it was a cartoon (in a cartoon) in anime style where magical animals were released from clam shells. This prompted Johnny to collect as many clam shells as he could. That was a class episode. I believe Southpark had an episode with a familiar theme which had Southpark/anime animation for half the episode.
I can't be arsed to go back through the thread, but in case it hasn't been linked, This page has a lot of pretty PPG anime pics. And assumedly some info, but I can't read Japanese.
I like the pic with the monsters, I reckon Boogie Man should make a return in the anime series with a larger part. He's, like, the dark lord pimp of the PPG world!
The original has its moments. The Beatles episode is brilliant, in my eyes.
This anime already pisses me off. They transform. They fucking transform. What the hell? Does that mean they have a secret identity? Because that's stupid. Part of the reason I like the show is that everyone knows who they are. They're not hiding. They're just three cute little girls who beat up the bad guys. That's all.
Then again. It's not like we don't basterdize nearly everything we adapt from other countries. Stuff just gets lost in translation.
The Powerpuff Girls is one of the best cartoons of the past decade in my eyes.

It absolutely pisses me the fuck off that this is getting a positive reception from a large amount of "anime fans". They' be whining and bitching all year if some company made a brand new and drastically different Americanised version of Naruto or Dragon Ball or whatever.
I don't watch the show at all or anything, but this strikes me as amazingly stupid. PowerPuff Girls is an American cartoon, right? (I might not be right) Why did someone find it necessary to make a Japanese version of this? It's not like everything made in Japan is better just because they're some sort of divine culture or whatever.
Why do so many American kids have to hate what's made in America? Dumbasses.
This is a stupid idea. A lot of PPG was already an homage to anime - what would be the point?!
I mean, its like Sonic and Astro Boy. Both were created to be an homage to US styles, and so how do you feel if they're actually handled by Americans? It's confusing.

I wouldn't really have a problem if they were true to the original works.
chriscaffee wrote:The original wasn't fantastic, and this one doesn't look to be any better. The only good cartoon is Loony Toons.
That's Looney Tunes and wait, so you don't like Simpsons, Family Guy, or Futurama? Also, PPG seasons 1-4 and the movie was great after that it went to crap.

The constant high ratings Nick gets from airing SpongeBob Squarepants and Fairly OddParents negates that statement. That comment usually applies to rabid otaku like CP just stated.
