Technically everyone in the Navy is a Seaman, though the general term is mostly used for enlisted as is the specific rank.
Army: Soldier
Marines: Marine
Airforce: Airman
I always find it humorous in movies and video games where the term "soldier" is applied to every branch of service.
Which brings up an interesting note: Time's (is it?) person of the year was the United States soldier, which would exclude all other branches. Was this due to ignorance or do they think that the army is really more deserving then any other branch?

I thought it was "The American Fighting Person". I'mpretty sure I still have that issue here somewhere.chriscaffee wrote:Technically everyone in the Navy is a Seaman, though the general term is mostly used for enlisted as is the specific rank.

The international edition, admittedly. I dunno, I think it may have been some sort of threat.
