I think Sonic's world was an "Eco-World" or something in Sonic X, it definitely wasn't Mobius.

I think that the OVA captured the Sonic and Tails dynamic very well.

They never mention Mobius once. Not even once. Still Sonic X did suck, but the later episodes after episode 52 will suck even more since Sonic Team has no control over it at all. As for SatAM on other forums I've posted pages of stuff trying to show people that it was a degrace to Sonic. They still just keep on thinking that it's the greatest and bash the games. I'd really like to just beat the crap out of the Sonic comic and cartoon fans.

Hopefully this game does not kill off the Sonic franchaise. I would like to see the games set on Mobius again before it ends.

Anyway here is some rare information regarding the Mobius nonsense. Sega of America didn’t create it directly. Sonic had a comic in a Disney Adventures magazine and the writer had no clue what Sonic's world was called so he made something up. So yes as hard to believe, as it may be it is really Disney's fault.

But for the other branches (the Taki anime, DiC cartoons, comics, etc.) it's another story. It's pointless to argue that the UK comic is wrong because it takes place on Mobius, for instance; technically everything that doesn't take place in the games is wrong, including Sonic X. But it's no hassle since each is their own seperate and distinct continuity. The SoA storyline for the games, though, took the PLACE of the original - a big no-no in my book. The US manuals were basically watered-down versions of the Japanese ones anyway. No big loss.

I agree with this, characters remain pretty much the same no matter their surroundings.
And if characters don't change then they don't pick up a new gun.
