Phantasy Star 3: Generations of Doom
For some reason, Phantasy Star 3, the only PS game not being remade, is often considered to be the black sheep of the series, and a rather poor game. I've finished playing it, and while it is different than its predecessors, I honestly fail to see what's so bad at it. Yes, it can get irritating at times with how slowly you move from place to place, but it's really nothing worse than anything I encountered in the first two games, and I was able to enjoy it for the most part, especially the challenging LaShute area. I was just wondering what anybody here thought of it, and if you think it's a great game or if it's a disgrace to the series.
On a related note, has there been any news whatsoever on the upcoming Phantasy Star 4 Sega Ages remake?

Well, according to what is written under the Sonic and Tails section of the museum, he is. In reality however, he's called Dark Force in all of the in-game text. I don't think he is called Dark Phallus in any of the Phantasy Star games. It's either Dark Force or Dark Falz.Isn't that the one where Dark Falz is called Dark Phallus?

We'd like to keep your nail-biting conditon under control, but the anticipation of Sega's PSU might leave your cuticles screaming for help. Yes, we know we're going to be hitting you with another action-RPG, but it is not our fault that this is one of the best looking games we have ever seen. Phantasy star Online gave us our first real-time online console game and surprisingly hit a home run on its first swing -- you can't chalk that up to beginner's luck. We don't want to give too much away about online play and profile configuration, but we're going to leave you with one word: breasts."

Is PS4 being remade? I don't suppose it's on GBA, is it? Or is it just that stinkin' Sega Ages thing?Ecco wrote:For some reason, Phantasy Star 3, the only PS game not being remade...

For the first time I'm semi-interested in the Sega Ages line. When's it out?smiths32 wrote:Just Sega Ages, I'd rather have a refurbished PS4 than a watered down, portable one anyway. 4 was also on the Saturn before, and 3's been on that and the GBA as well.Is PS4 being remade? I always wanted to play some of the Phantasy Stars. The first few were way too dated for my already schizophrenic RPG tastes, but the fourth seemed interesting enough. However, playing console games on PCs creates some kind of spiritual barrier between me and the game and I tend to lose interest within an hour... hopefully this update will be decent enough to warrant further sampling.
What do the PS updates actually entail, anyway? I've only been able to find standard press release schlock... I don't suppose anyone knows anything a bit more in-depth?
