Edward? Was that "Falcon"s name? Whatever, Power Stone kicked ass. And no sequels after Dreamcast. Capcom sucks.

Yeah. In the Japanese version he was E. Fokker, but apparently it was decided that "Fokker" was an inappropriate name for the main character in the US release. And so Falcon was born.

Maybe they're for aerodynamics.

My favorite character was Wangtang. Not only is the name amusing, but his moves in normal mode reminded me of some stuff pulled off in the first Matrix, as well as his Power Stone form being very DBZ-ish, (which was cool at the time).

I always loved Fokker, Ryoma and WangTang. Ryoma's throws were some of the best in the game.

I liked Wantang's "Spin on pillar into triple kick" move and his Genki Dama rip off.

Of course, Powerstone 1 is unbalanced so badly that if the person you're playing against is using either Fokker, Galuda or Gunrock, you're fucked.

Hey, leave my personal issues out of this. That's my problem to deal with, not yours. Mine alone. [/unnecessarily larger text]

Dache, that isn't true at all. I don't claim to be a master of the game, but back in my day I could hold my own with pretty much any character. I even once dodged that Hundred Flower Blossom shit without getting touched. That was one of the highpoints of my life.

Power Stone 1 is pretty imbalanced. Power Stone 2 remains one of my favorite party games of all time. Power Stone 3 eludes me everywhere but my dreams.

Power Stone? Unbalanced as hell.
I loved it, though. Never bought the second one. Didn't have enough money.

I remember playing the Power Stone demo on the Generator Vol.1 disc over and over again. That, and CART Flag to Flag (I don't know why I had so much fun with that)... and Sega Bass Fishing.

"Once dodged"? Once? What were you, some kind of n00b? Quality players can dodge that blindfolded, motherfucker.

This automatically invalidates any opinion you have on Powerstone!

You've never dodged it and you know it.

I was taking the piss with the "quality players can dodge that blindfolded" comment. But no, seriously, if you only dodged it once and you consider that to be a highlight, then you weren't that good a Powerstone player. Sorry.

I disagree. It's a pretty Goddamn random move. And if you ever want to go, just name the time and place bitch.

Dude, you just have to jump around for a while. It's like dodging rockets in Halo.

It's random, but if you're far away enough from Ayane when she pulls it out, it's not that hard to avoid. Yeah, all you need to do is jump lots.

About 5 years ago, a couple of my friends held a Powerstone tournament thing in their game store (which would never have happened if the manager wasn't there as it was part of a big national chain). Everyone who participated were proper good at the game though; the level of play was insane.

I lost at the final, although I blame that on my friend/organiser setting the number of matches up to 2-out-of-3 from 1, confusing the fuck out of me when I won the first round and making me lose my concentration. Fucker.

He recorded that match though... I should see if I can get him to make an AVI of it so I can stick it up here...

Dodging rockets in Halo is moot. Any good player waits for you to jump and then shoots the ground you are about to land on. If you don't give 'em the chance, then they shoot once to get you in the air, and then shoot the ground you are about to land on.

In Halo 2 the splash damage was so nerfed that people can use it like a Goddamn shotgun, which now acts like some kind of airsoft shit.

And I still say that flower blossom thing is hard to dodge, no matter how far away you are, simply because of the timing. I can consistently dodge most of the attack, but I have only ever dodged it without a scratch once.
