Each of those "thumbtacks" is an inch in diameter and two feet long. I believe one of them is depleted Uranium and the other is Tungsten. If I remember correctly they can kill tanks up to two and a half miles away (their max range is classified) though there have been confirmed kills up to and around perhaps three or four miles away.
So here it the real mystery. I search of "apfsds" so I can find the source of the original pic and I find this on the first page:

And these were on page 2. I was quite certain that "apfsds" could only be an acronym for "armor piercing, fin-stabilized, discarding sabot," but evidently I was wrong.


So what do the DOA fighting games have to do with APFSDS? And why is it only figurines that appear? Those whacky Japanese.
