It sucks to be you guys. My mom used to be ridiculously anal with what she'd let me watch and read, but for whatever reason, she totally let games slip under her radar. It was the one thing she didn't monitor, and this was well into the early 90's when I was playing RPG's with magic and goddesses and other heretical themes. I guess it's a good thing for me she never caught on.

My parents have let us watch or play just about anything for as long as I remember, because they know we wouldn't imitate or be influenced by anything we see. The only time I can remember that my mom objected to something I was watching was a really long time ago, when I was first becoming interested in Anime, I had rented Moldiver from the library, and she had just happened to walk in the room when this girl was transforming and she was nekkid.

The only thing my parents dissapproved of me was boys in my life (which actually caused me to enjoy the fact I like being single and loveless...at the moment), but everything else they don't seem to mind. I mean, my dad let us rent South Park videos when I was like, 12-ish and my sister about 9 or 10.

I don't know how comfortable I'd feel with a prostitute hired by my mother.
One of the reasons I know I wouldn't make a good parent is because I'd care fuck all about what my children took in. I'd probably happily share my porn. Sort of like that episode of Family Guy.
Me: "Well son, it's your 13th birthday and it's time you learned about nekkid boobies. I can't afford a prostitute, so here."
My kid: "But dad... these are all cartoon girls."
Me: "They're not cartoons, you dimwitted youth, they're anime girls. I like them because they're shinier and they have green hair."
My kid: "......"
Now that I think about it, I guess if I had a kid, he would probably be more sensible than me.

Not mad, she just turned it off, no, & no. Now that I think of it, my parents don't want me watching South Park, only when they're around anyway. My mom didn't mind when I openly told her that was going to see Team America: Word Police, and she was fully aware of how 'vulgar' it was.Knuckles Dawson wrote:Well, don't stop there. How pissed was she? Were you aware of the nudity beforehand? Did you get punished? The public must know.
And I just remembered, she's okay with me watching anime that contains nudity in it now. It's not always exactly erotic.
