The one thing I didn't like about Beyond was that the english version had VAs from Rugrats.

Speaking of Robots, that Dreamworks movie looks almost as shitty as Shark Tale. The art is fairly interesting, but c'mon - the old "I have a growth on the back of my hand so I don't know it so well! RLO!L" is such an idiotic and tired joke.

Robin Williams doesn't even seem like he's trying, anymore.

I thought the same thing when I saw the thread title.

Ditto.

And Dreamworks isn't responsible for Robots, 20th Century Fox is.

The only good thing about the movie I saw from the trailers is the character designs.

Sounds like a distinctly unfunny movie, like the majority of children’s (and “comedyâ€￾) films are. They are in most dire need of a nasty spanking from the Mrs. Black Humour, and a good chewing out from Mr. Satire.

Although the CGI does indeed look fairly good, considering the atrocious art direction of Shark Tale, which I hope I will never see.

By just talking about Shark Tale, I just came to realise that the film it was trying so desperately to ape, Finding Nemo, wasn't particularly good to begin with. Sure, at the time the originality of the movie was great, and I presume its plot is far superior to Shark Tale (from its trailers), but Nemo itself was a completely uninteresting film to watch compared to Pixar's other works. I get the feeling it was merely a technology demo to test how much realistic detailing Pixar could put on into their CGI's, before actually making a stellular plot to go with it (ala The Incredibles). Of course, I am most probably going to be proven horribly wrong, just like most of my opinions are.

From the trailers I've seen of Robots, it still looks far more interesting then the crap that was Shark Tale.

And yea, the art is visually lovely. It doesn't have that rounded feel of Pixar films and more of a edgier, sharper look, which I perfer more.

I like the style of Robots. I just hope the oversaturation of big-name stars don't hamper such a decent looking project.

Will Smith, Robert DeNiro, Jack Black, Renée Zellweger, Angelina Jolie were all in Shark Tale

I get the feeling it would've sucked only slightly less without them, anyways.

I was just making the connection between the big names and the low quality of Shark Tale and Robots.

Seconded. There's no such thing as an average or mediocre Pixar film so far. They've all been great, at the least.

I agree. Finding Nemo is certainly in the Top 3 of Pixar's films, right with The Incredibles and Toy Story, I think.

I'm not sure why you feel Finding Nemo has no plot or any value beyond being an elaborate CGI test, Dark Crow. Elaborate, please?

No...It had Woody's backstory. A role reversal between him and Buzz, and the Airplane sequence owned. Andy seemed particularly older for whatever reason. Toy Story 2 was fine.

Toy Story 2 was great, and almost even better than the original.

Toy Story was beautifully handled in everyway. Jessie's Song still gets to me, damn it.
