Constantine: pi/5 for resisting two major cliches

Post by chriscaffee »

I only found out after the movie that it is based on a comic book so whatever. It was pretty good and there was one unexpected twist and two cliches avoided. That and the humor made up for the tired plot (ohnoes antichrist!). Yeah, you should go see it if you get the chance, and I'm not just saying that because of the holy grenade launcher.

I'm not familiar with the comic Hellblazer (of which Constantine is based on), but I've heard that a lot of those fanboys haven't been happy with the flick, for what it's worth.

Still, I think I might end up seeing it sooner or later.

Not as cool as the Holy Hand Grenade, but yeah, I actually want to see this movie.

Okay. Yeah. He's right. Constantine was bad-ass.

That is all.

I saw it and enjoyed it too, and I was really expecting it to be terrible. Did anybody else stick around through the credits for the extra scene at the end?

The trailer and the plot overview given on the official site were so hoaky that I too had my doubts about it. The ending was Goddamn awesome though. I mean it was absolutely brilliant. I think Keanu has found his "I'll be back."

No, but I heard the jist of it. Wish I'd stayed, though.

Well, i'm gonna go see it again with Nicole, so, I'll stick through the ending this time. Chris and I had to leave at the credits any way.
