Yep. These are actual DC comic covers mostly from the 50's-60's. You can see all of them at http://www.comics.org They also have covers to the Lois Lane comics which are equally funny.

Up until I saw those covers in the first post, I always thought Superman was a nice guy, but now I found out he's just a bastard.

And I'm just shocked that these are actual covers.

Old school DC is a little... odd. On crack, if you will.

I'm glad that site is back up in some form, because it's fucking hilarious.

I wonder under what circumstances Jimmy Olson found that M1919A4 to come in handy.

Classic.

My Mom's favorite super hero is Superman. I'll have to show her these and see if that remains true.

I'm sure the actual comics have perfectly reasonable explanations for everything. Except the black woman shit. That's just fucked up.

And here I was under the misconception that superheros were meant to save people. Thanks to you though Ngangbius, now I know better.

That cover raises some questions.

Why is she wearing that costume?

Was it really necessary to gag her and drive her off of a cliff?

Why not just use heat vision to decapitate her if you're going to do something like kill her?

It's fairly simple to understand. Superman realises he's into bondage after being tortured, then later escapes and captures Lois Lane, has his wicked way with her, and then attempts to dispose of the evidence in an act of revenge.

Well it's a good enough reason for me.

Does anyone know why they stopped making these?

Although my reason is pure speculation, but most probably because it made Superman seem unpatriotic. In later years he just had to uphold the American ideologies of fighting for truth and justice as the times dictated.

Which is a shame, as these comics seem to be awesome.

I thought it had to do with the aftermath of the Crisis of Infinite Earths.

Crisis of Infinite Earths, huh? From what I've heard of it, it basically hit the cosmic reset button while killing a lot of spin-off characters.

It was probably or the best, but I haven't really looked into the Superman (and otherwise) stuff, so I can't really say for certain.

(all those covers)

QUE MERDA É ESSA??!

Maconha (marijuana) isn't enough to explain those covers.
How can something be so fucked up and hiliarious at the same time?

That one's actually pretty clever. Popped.

Also, who the hell would buy a comic about Lois Lane in the first place?
