Mine still works and has done for the past 6 1/2 years, which is why I was confused at the "N64 analog stick snapping" remark above.

How did yours actually fall apart, Zeta?

Get a new TV.
The TV is fine. This is the first time it's happened.

Oh, and while I was playing San Andreas half an hour ago, the sound started to break. The cutscene where he kicks the crack dealer in the face was a mess of eerie squibbles. Then in the next cutscene it cut out completely, meaning the cutscene never ended. I had to turn the thing off. So, here I am.

Kingdom Hearts is next. THEN I'll try Sands of Time. I really only got that game because it was cheap and made up the numbers.

Shame you say that, because Sand of Time is probably the best game out of the three.

I don't understand how Rockstar has managed to trick people into buying 3 versions of the same game.

King of Fighters. Mega Man. Crash Bandicoot. Any goddamn sports series ever made. I could carry this list on if I didn't need to shit really bad at this moment.

Of course, GTA could devour any of those several times over in terms of sales.

Isn't Sonic 1 through 3 kind of like that?

And here I thought I was the only one who actually likes Crash Bandicoot...a surviving fan, despite 2 out of 3 of his PS2 games were pretty damn bad.

Wrath of Cortex, some racing one, that new one (Twisted or something?)

...and I think that's it.

But repeated gameplay isn't a symnonim for "not fun"... take the Megaman series, for example.
And again, I'm not too critical with games.

I don't really care for the GTA games, but I'd still admit that there was probably a lot more expansion/evolution between Vice City and San Andreas then there was between, say, Sonic 2 and Sonic 3.

Actually, I'd say there was a huge amount of expansion between Sonic 2 and 3.

The levels were twice as big and half as frequent. That's fucking expansive.

The levels weren't just larger, though, the overall sense of pacing and design was much better, not to mention more varied. I'd say there was plenty of evolution between Sonic 2 and 3.

I didn't say there was no evolution/expansion between Sonic 2 and 3... just not as much as there was between Vice City and San Andreas. Like I said, I'm not a big GTA player or anything, but it's not like San Andreas is Megaman 6, here. I just didn't think it was fair to slag it as a cookie-cutter sequel.

I think the amount of things they've added in each new GTA3 installment so far has been pretty significant. Anyone who calls them all the same game is an idiot.

Gameplay-wise the games play pretty similar. They may have made the world similar and made it so you can swim now and shit, but they are still fairly similar. Not that it's a bad thing, they gave the people what they wanted with minor improvements, it's better than redoing the whole thing and ending up fucking it up.

Kinda like what Ubisoft did with Warrior Within?
