Take note of the North American launch list:

Mercury
Dynasty Warriors
FIFA Soccer
MVP Baseball
NBA 2005
NBA Street
NFL Street 2
Need For Speed Underground Rivals
Ridge Racer
Spider-Man 2
Tiger Woods PGA Tour
Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade

The only thing that is worth anything in my eyes is Mercury, but I can see the significance of a new Ridge Racer game. I am saddened by the lack of Lumines in this list amoung other things. Needless to say, I'll think I'll wait 'til the price go down in which by then hopefully there will be plenty of games that are really worth playing without having to resort to importing.

Portables have never really been my thing so I don't have any plans for a PSP.

So far, no games for the PSP has yet to interest me. Right now, my eye is on the Nintendo DS as I've got a chance to play Super Mario 64 DS and it was pretty addicting, well, the mini-games at least. I'd probably buy it just to play the mini-games.

Uhm... It kinda shows my lack of interest in Playstation in general when I ask, I though the PSP was compatable with current Playstation software? It's not?

Until Sony can release a first generation system that does not have problems overheating/not reading discs/ejecting discs mistakenly, I will not buy *any* Sony product until a year after its launched.

What about the new SC-7000000000 whatever PS2's? I'm hearing that they're already having problems.

What PS2's? The PStwo's look like they won't have much of a problem, but I'm still probably not gonna get one unless it drops to a hundred bucks long before the next gen's come out.

What pisses me off about the whole thing is that Sony and even Unofficial Playstation magazines blatantly ignore the defects. When you bring them up they just say they've never had any problems with theres.

Actually, a friend of mine has a PSTwo, and it can't read memory cards in port one if they're all the way in, that is, if they're actually inserted properly. Has anyone else heard of this problem?

I've heard the fans on the PStwo's bust after about 3 days of playing. Any truth to this?

It's never a good idea to buy a portable at launch. If they don't have good titles soon, they tend to die a hell of a lot faster than consoles. N-Gage, Lynx, Virtual Boy et al . . .

I've had a PS2 since Tuesday and it works fine. The 60 Hertz mode on Onimusha 3 is black & white, though. Dunno why. The other games are fine. Well, San Andreas is. Sands of Time is still in it's wrapper.

You chose to play GTA over Sands of Time? I've killed people for less.

You too? Mine just stopped existing one day, leaving one stray Sonic cartridge as proof it was not a figment of my imagination.

My friend has had a PStwo for around a month, and he hasn't had a problem with it. I've had my normal PS2 for around 2 years, and I've never had a problem. Hell, there's a big, huge, white scratch going across the disc tray of my PS2, and it works fine.

I do have countless broken PS2 controllers though. Those shoulder buttons like to go in and never come back out. I also have about 2 dead original PSX units in a closet somewhere.

Outside of Castlevania DS, there's nothing on DS that interests me... The only reasons I want is because 1. It's there, 2. It's by Nintendo and I'm a fucking fanboy, and 3. Utada was in the Japanese commercials.

PSP is starting to look interesting... I mean, Tales of Eternia is a ways off but looks like it might not suck completely, plus Square is promising some sort of FF7 related action-rpg for it. At the very least, it looks cool.

Though... some people online who've imported Nip PSPs have already reported a shitload of problems with it, from analog sticks that snap off N64 style, to dead pixels to batteries that refuse to recharge :P.

But Tales of Eternia is already available in the States. Namco of America released it on the PS1 as Tales of Destiny 2.(this before the real ToD2 was actuall created)

Get a new TV.

I bet if I buy a PSP it will work perfectly forever and inexplicably never have to be recharged, even if I ran over it with a truck or something. I swear it's everyone in the world except me who has problems with game consoles or control pads.

The only console that ever truly broke down on me was my N64. It literally started to fall apart.
