Calling Sonic's CD design "hideous" is treason. It is the DEFINITIVE design of Sonic. Indeed, I'd go as far as to say that it is sleek and sophisticated. So, I suggest you surrender your site to Pepperidge immediately, along with all the money in Free Parking. You cock nobber.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
No matter what you do in this game, you just look like a badass.
Sonic Jam, and if no compilations are allowed then S3&K
Super Mario Bros. 3
PSO
Mech Assault.
The last two only count if I have an internet connection, and like Popcorn they don't refelect my top 5 games, they reflect games that I would never get bored of.
Oh and shut up G. Silv!

At least you can run in Sonic 3, everytime you try to do it in Sonic CD you smack into a wall or a spring that sends you in the opposite direction or sometimes into another spring so you can just sit there and watch Sonic catapult back and forth forever or until you feel like pressing the jump button to get out of the retarded trap. And the difference between exploring in Sonic CD and Sonic 3 is that when venturing about CD's microscopic levels the most exciting thing you can hope to encounter is a nook in the side of the wall with Rings placed haphazardly and maybe a Barrier Item Box nestled behind two sets of spikes. Whereas when you explore Sonic 3's massive landscapes, it's entirely possible you'll stumble across a whole chunk of level you never knew existed.
And at least Sonic 3's stages have some semblance of color balance, as opposed to Sonic CD's rainbow-colored, sugar-induced Saturday morning buzz trips.
Plus, Knuckles is cooler than Amy could ever hope to be. Still.
Also, when MEN jerk off to Evangelion porn, it's to the real women like Misato and Ritsuko.

I don't think compilation games are really cheating. It's a game you could go out and buy just like any other game, what's on the disc/cartridge shouldn't matter, whether it's one full game or a bunch of them. That doesn't prevent you from taking it to an island.

Well at least Amy is smarter than Knuckles. I'm pretty sure...Green Gibbon! wrote:Plus, Knuckles is cooler than Amy could ever hope to be. Still.

1) Shenmue/Shenmue II: Because they are both linked, i think they should count as one game. I love the game so much. Plus Nozomi is in it - and cute Japanese girls is a plus.
2) Resident Evil: Still the only game to scare me (though to be fair the TV is dark and you can't tell if the zombie is dead or not). And the original Saturn/PS one - not the GC remake.
3) Sonic Jam: It would be easier to say Mega collection, but Jam allowed you to save games, and had the awesome Sonic World. I never get bored going into the cinema and singing along to "Toot Toot Sonic Warrior"
4) Final Fantasy VII: Because it's the only one i have enjoyed (only other one i have played is VIII and that ain't as fun).
5) Super Mario 64: Because it reminds me of a time when 3D was awesome and not dull.
I would've said WipEout and Burning Rangers too, but you can only have 5 :|

Compilation packs aren't cheating, but
... fucking is.A pirated super cartridge and a Game Boy Advanced to take with me while lounging and floating around on that crappy little raft i made.
It should include like 25 all time classics like Tetris, Link To The Past, Megaman, Puzzle Bobble, some Pokémon version, Puzzle Bobble, Dr. Mario, Frogger, etc.

Exactly. These may not be your "all time" games or whatever. Just which ones you can always rely on to be fun when you just wanna play.Popcorn wrote:This is by no means an indication of what are necessarily my favourite games, but it's definitely the ones I could play for the longest without going quite, quite mad:
There's no magic internet connection on the island, unfortunately. You are completely isolated. So your list stands as is.Do we have an internet connection too? If so, I'd have to replace some of those with Worms Armageddon, PSO and Team Fortress Classic.

Maybe, but Knuckles is also damn gullible. How many fucking times has Dr. Robotnik tricked him into thinking that Sonic is the "real" enemy? I think it was 5 at my last count.Light Speed wrote:Knuckles has a deeper story than any other character in the series. Shadow is just a Sonic clone with a backstory ridden with plot holes.

But that's the character flaw that makes him believable. Uh... well, lovable, anyway. How many fucking times has Dr. Robotnik tricked him into thinking that Sonic is the "real" enemy?
Due in no small part to his position in Sonic Battle, I'm kind of starting to like Shadow. There's a fine line between artificial goth teen angst and genuine, experienced, existential understanding that results in loss of hope and hatred of everything. Shadow hasn't made it across that line yet, but the potential is there. If I had my way, within a couple of years he'd be reading Jean-Paul Sartre and smoking excessively.
