I'm not sure. I've played Kirby's Avalanche on some SNES rom on NT's computer, I think (I have no idea what I'm talking about), but that's rather hard. I beat both the beginner and intermediate levels on Puyo Pop Fever really fast, and am pretty close to beating the advanced level... with Kirby's Avalanche, I get whipped around the 6th or 7th level. I think I've played to 10 once, but that was definitely luck. I think Nathan also has some version of it on the GBA rom, but I only saw that once.
...I remember why I don't talk about games around hardcore gamers. D'oh. :P

Kirby's Avalanche / Mean Bean Machine was a port of the original arcade Puyo Puyo (which was based on the MSX version). Puyo Puyo Tsu (which is just a pun for 2) was released in arcades a couple years after that. Mame runs it fine except for the usual minor sound problems.
I think it was also ported to SNES and Mega Drive, but it wasn't released in the US until Puyo Pop for the NeoGeo Pocket.
